The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Thursday, October 8, tease that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will bicker as they’re out in Chancellor Park trying to enjoy the day.
Victor will insist that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is the problem bringing their family down, and Nikki will insist that the problem is Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and that Victor needs to get Adam to leave town for good.
Meanwhile, at the Grand Phoenix, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will arrive at Billy’s suite, and they’ll talk briefly about how Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) was found unconscious in the elevator at Chancellor Communications last night.
Billy will reveal that he installed a camera in his hotel suite, and he’ll show Lily footage of Adam rummaging through his room.
In another suite, Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will enjoy their morning in bed, and Chance will urge Abby to play hooky today and run around Genoa City with him.
And down in the lobby, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will express concern after Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) takes a call about the hotel’s financial issues.
Over at Adam’s penthouse, Adam will quiz Chelsea about why she was at Chancellor Communications last night, and he’ll say that he is handling the situation.
Chelsea will figure out that Adam was responsible for the power outage in the building, and that he searched Billy and Lily’s rooms at the Grand Phoenix. Chelsea will accuse Adam of pushing her away and not working together as a team, and Adam will leave the penthouse miffed.
Adam will turn up at the bar at Society, where Billy will needle him about breaking into his hotel room last night. Adam will deny the whole thing, and the men will bicker until Adam tells Billy that if he keeps at this, he’ll regret it. Billy will thank Adam for giving him even more fodder for his article.
Next, Nick will show up in Chancellor Park to see Nikki. Nikki will urge Nick to talk to his father and urge him to send Adam out of town. Nick will have another idea on how to handle Adam.
Elsewhere in the park, Abby and Chance will talk about their relationship, and after a trip to the zoo, Abby will tell Chance that she loves him. Chance will return the sentiment, and they’ll share a warm moment together.
Nick will turn up next at Adam’s penthouse, where he’ll want to talk with Chelsea. The conversation will start out friendly enough, but it will soon turn contentious when Nick urges Chelsea to leave town with Adam.
Chelsea will be peeved, and she’ll ask Nick to leave. Later, Adam will return, and she’ll ask Adam to leave Genoa City with her, so that they can have a fresh start with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
Over at Newman Enterprises, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will have a video chat with Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri), and then Nikki will enter the office. Victoria will tell Nikki that Phyllis has been approaching Newman Enterprises’ business partners about rooming at the Grand Phoenix, and that she wants to send a message.
Victoria will tell Nikki that Phyllis is stretched thin with the hotel, and that she’s about to lose her financing. Nikki won’t like the idea, and she’ll insist that Nick will be upset if Victoria makes an adverse move against Phyllis. Victoria won’t care, and she’ll say that she’s determined to send a message to Phyllis.
At Chancellor Communications, Lily and Billy will talk about what comes next for their business. They’ll continue their conversation over at Society, where Lily will run some new story ideas past Billy. Suddenly, Victor will appear in Billy’s line of sight and the men will stare each other down.
Back at the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis will take a call from her finance person and learn that a holding company has purchased her note. When Phyllis hears the name of the holding company, she’ll know who’s behind this.
Phyllis will rush off past Nick, who’s just arrived at the hotel, to go confront Victoria over at Newman Enterprises.
Phyllis will barge into Victoria’s office upset that Victoria bought her loan from the bank, giving Victoria 75% of the Grand Phoenix. Victoria will quip that Phyllis shouldn’t have left herself exposed.
Phyllis will rant that Victoria’s upset about all the JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) stuff from the past, and she’ll get irate when Victoria asks what Phyllis wants for the last 25% of the hotel. Phyllis will storm out, insisting that this isn’t over.
