The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 2, tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be on the phone letting an employee have it when she walks into her office to find Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) waiting for her.
Nikki will say that Victoria’s about to be put to the test. Soon, Victoria and Nikki will get on a video call with Dan from New York, who will say that it’s not too late to undo all the damage that Victoria’s done to Newman Enterprises.
Dan will go on about having drinks with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) back in the day and talking about Victoria’s great potential. But Dan will say that even the greatest CEOs make mistakes.
Victoria will say that she’s made Newman leaner and meaner. “And vulnerable,” Dan will say. Dan will say that he’s heard rumblings from the worker bees that people are unhappy, and that Victoria needs to keep those bees happy or else she has nothing.
Victoria will call out Dan on making a threat, and Dan will accuse Victoria of tarnishing Victor’s legacy. Victoria will say that the conversation is over and end the call.
Afterwards, Victoria will tell Nikki not to mention this to Victor, as she wants to wait to see if Dan brings Victor up to speed on what’s happened. Nikki will think that Victor would talk to Victoria if he had concerns, but Victoria will think that Victor sent in his attack dog.
Nikki will then tell Victoria about the Grand Phoenix Escape Club, suggesting that Victoria book an escape. Victoria will balk, saying that her life is full enough, but Nikki will want her to think about it.
Meanwhile, over at Chancellor Communications, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will give Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) some guidelines for the company’s story and content creators.
Billy will assume that the regulations are basically for him, and he’ll note that he likes living on the edge. Amanda and Billy will reminisce about all their talks at the Empty Glass, and they’ll be getting along well when Amanda has to take off.
Amanda will explain that she’s going to give blood at the New Hope Clinic, and Billy will offer to drive her. Amanda will reluctantly accept. Once at the clinic, Billy will donate blood, then Amanda will go next.
After some banter with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), Amanda will say that her blood type is B-, which is rare. Nate will stop in his tracks, saying that this was Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) blood type.
Amanda will reel from the news, and Nate will urge her to look at the facts – her family background is unknown, she was in foster care, she shares the same rare blood type as Hilary.
After some back and forth, Amanda will decide that she wants to know the truth, and that she needs to start by talking to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to see if he still has Hilary’s personal effects so they can search for a DNA sample.
Back at Chancellor Communications, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will present Billy with some potential writers for their team. One in particular will be too edgy even for Billy, and Theo will be a bit put off by this.
Billy will explain about how Amanda’s on the team to reign them in, and she’s already been a big help. Billy will beam as he talks about Amanda.
At the Grand Phoenix, Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will banter and flirt, and when Chance goes off to a client meeting, he’ll leave his phone behind.
Abby will notice an urgent text from Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), and she’ll worry that it may have something to do with what happened in Vegas. Chance will go to see Paul, although he won’t be worried about the Vegas angle.
When Chance returns, he’ll explain to Abby that Paul offered him a job as a detective on the GCPD. Abby will be dismayed to learn that Chance wants the job, and she’ll offer excuses for why he shouldn’t take it, finally admitting that she’s worried about him getting hurt on the job.
Plus, Abby will think that Chance and Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) situation in Vegas could come back to bite.
Chance will convince Abby that it will all be ok, and that he wants the detective job. Suddenly, Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) will approach them, saying that she wants to talk with Chance because they have someone in common – Adam.
Alyssa will say that she’s a journalist and she’s looking into a missing persons case that Chance knows something about.
Chance will play dumb, and he and Abby will make themselves scarce. Alyssa will look like she’s not about to give up. Over at Society, Theo will approach Victoria at the bar and offer to join her.
Victoria will accuse Theo of hitting on her, but Theo will say he’s just networking. After awkwardly sliding his business card to Victoria, she’ll invite him to join her. Theo will then ask if Victoria is hitting on him.
