The Young and the Restless Spoilers Review: Monday, October 12 – Adam Wants Sharon Back, She Pushes Rey to Propose Instead

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers review for Monday, October 12, reveals that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has priorities on her mind. During a fight with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Chelsea thinks the focus has to be on family, not winning. Adam doesn’t want to flee Genoa City and rants about how quickly Chelsea turned on him.

Chelsea denies turning against Adam, but they need to get away and remind themselves what they’re fighting for. Chelsea suggests Adam can take the high road by getting away and proving he’s not the monster he was made out to be.

Adam warns that a sequel could drop at any moment, but Chelsea wonders how Adam can stop it.

Since Adam’s more on edge than she’s ever seen him, it’s scaring Chelsea. Adam balks, but Chelsea worries about what might go wrong if Connor comes home next.

Adam argues that he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to Connor, but Chelsea suggests Adam let something bad happen to her when she fell and hit her head at Chance Comm.

Adam thinks Chelsea doesn’t just want him to prove to the world that he’s not a monster – she wants Adam to prove it to her. “Frame it however you want,” Chelsea says on Monday’s Y&R episode. “Fine. Sure. Yeah, prove it to me.” Adam doesn’t think Chelsea’s living up to her claim to love him unconditionally and storms out.

At Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) place, she surprises Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) by suggesting she wants to get out of the house for a while. Rey offers to go with Sharon, but she says she just wants to take a quick trip to Crimson Lights alone.

Meanwhile, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) is at the coffeehouse when Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) arrives after getting her call. Lauren has news about Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) necklace, but first she sends Jack a pic of Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) baby on his phone.

Afterward, Lauren talks about a safe deposit box in London that wasn’t inventoried. Dina’s emerald might be in there, so Lauren’s having the contents send over as they speak.

She mentions the legend of the necklace suggesting it brings love to the owner and tells Jack he’s been alone for too long. Jack’s such a catch! However, Jack opts to focus on Dina and giving her some flicker of peace as the end nears.

At the Chancellor mansion, Chloe thinks Kevin’s doing an amazing job with their newborn – so much so that she got him a present. Kevin wonders what could possibly top this amazing gift Chloe already gave him.

Since Chloe robbed Kevin of naming Bella Fisher (Martie Blair), she’s putting Baby Fisher’s first name entirely into Daddy’s hands.

At Society, Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) is with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) for a girls’ night. Mariah and Tessa want to be Lola’s wing women, so they wonder what kind of guy they should be looking for.

Lola isn’t focused on guys tonight and just wants to have fun. From now on, Lola wants to put her energy on things that can flourish and people that can appreciate them.

“Sounds like the perfect way to deal with the insanity of Kyle’s wedding,” Tessa says. “Kyle and Summer got married?!” Lola exclaims. Tessa’s sorry for spilling the beans, and Mariah explains she heard about the elopement from Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Lola decides it’s none of her business since Kyle can do whatever he wants.

At the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) rants on the phone about how it’s not acceptable for her to be out of options. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) can’t win, so Phyllis wants this person to work harder.

After Phyllis hangs up, she spots Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) in the lobby and questions him about why he looks like a “disheveled Clark Kent.” Phyllis then asks where Kyle’s blushing bride is. Kyle doesn’t know and admits Phyllis got what she wanted. The wedding never happened since Kyle woke up to an empty bed and a goodbye note.

Phyllis thinks this makes no sense and wonders what Kyle did to scare Summer Newman (Hunter King) off. Kyle denies doing anything and recaps that the note was pretty vague. It just said Summer couldn’t go through with the wedding and had some stuff to figure out.

Kyle worries maybe it was all an act for Summer or maybe she wasn’t really in love with him. Phyllis thinks that’s ridiculous since Summer’s been in love with Kyle since she was a teenager. Phyllis argues something had to have happened, but Kyle suggests Phyllis should let him know if she figures it out.

Once Kyle walks off, Phyllis calls Summer and gets voicemail. She begs Summer to call her back and promises she won’t judge her. Back at the Chancellor mansion, Chloe babbles on and on about the baby before asking what’s going on in Chelsea’s world.

Chelsea suddenly breaks down in tears. She updates Chloe on all her issues, including Adam, the failed clothing line and sending Connor to boarding school.

Chloe argues that Chelsea is more than Adam’s fiancée and wants her to start seeing him for who he really is. Chloe pushes Chelsea to concentrate on moving forward, but then shifts gears. Chelsea’s spirits are lifted when Chloe lets her hold the baby.

Later, Kevin reveals to Chloe that he wants to name the baby after a man who was his hero as a child. This neighbor protected Kevin from “Terrible Tom” when he could and was named Miles. Chloe loves it, so the baby is officially named Miles Mitchell Fisher.

At Crimson Lights, Adam spots Sharon and talks about her recent surgery. Sharon can tell that article is taking a toll on Adam. He admits it’s been rough, but Sharon always stands by him. Every time Adam’s at his lowest point, here Sharon is again…always. No matter how hard they try to move on with their lives, they wind up right there in front of each other.

Sharon downplays the idea that it’s fate, but Adam feels like it’s a sign. Whatever Adam’s going to say next, Sharon advises him not to. Adam wonders if that’s because Sharon knows it’ll be true. Chelsea doesn’t believe in Adam the way Sharon does.

Adam argues that Chelsea tries to love and accept him for the darkness inside him, but Sharon always sees the good – no matter how much hurts her. “And that’s why I’ve never stopped loving you,” Adam says on Monday’s Young and the Restless episode.

Sharon stammers about how Adam’s just feeling betrayed and contends that he can’t deny his history with Chelsea.

Adam points out that he has a history with Sharon as well, but she argues maybe that’s all it is – history. Nevertheless, Adam keeps at it and suggests Sharon will never love Rey the way she loves Adam. “It is meant to be,” Adam says. He thinks their entire journey has led them right here.

Sharon gets choked up and insists Adam has to accept that they’re not getting back together. Although Sharon admits she’ll never love Rey the way she loved Adam, that doesn’t mean her love for Rey isn’t strong.

Rey lifts Sharon up, but things are just complicated with Adam. Sharon makes it clear that she wants her new life to be with Rey, but Adam doesn’t think she means that.

Back at Society, Mariah and Tessa worry about Lola’s reaction to Summer and Kyle’s marriage news, but Mariah thinks maybe it’s better that she heard it this way. Lola appears and offers reassurance that she’s fine. The girls resolve not to talk about Kyle anymore, but he shows up at that very moment.

Lola tells Kyle there’s no need to fill her in on the new marriage because she already knows. Kyle doesn’t mention that it didn’t happen and agrees to go. Lola invites Kyle to stay for a shot if he wants because they’re celebrating her freedom and coming through this divorce in one piece – just like Kyle.

After Kyle’s gone, Mariah notes that Kyle seemed off – not like a guy who had a bride waiting at home. Lola doesn’t care and doesn’t want to talk about Kyle anymore. She’d rather just drink and dance.

Jack makes his way to The Grand Phoenix lobby after being summoned by Phyllis. She brings Phyllis up to speed on Kyle coming home alone, so Jack thinks Kyle must be devastated. Phyllis corrects that Summer’s surely the devastated one. She rants about Kyle must’ve done something to scare Summer away.

Phyllis thinks maybe Kyle cheated and will kill him if he did anything to her daughter. Jack thinks maybe the pressure just got to Summer – and then a text comes in from her on Phyllis’ phone. Summer says she just needs time to figure out things for herself, which leaves Phyllis even more confused.

After some bickering with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) at Chancellor Communications, Chelsea says she’s there because her son’s off at boarding school. She recaps visiting Chloe’s new baby and how it made her realize she’d like to spend some time with Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare). “What?!” Billy asks in shock.

Billy wonders where this is coming from and argues that Chelsea has shown no interest in Johnny as her biological child until now. Chelsea wonders if Billy’s told Johnny yet, but she eventually backs down on that for now.

Billy thinks this is getting more nuts by the second, but Chelsea warns not to call her crazy. Chelsea insists she gave birth to Johnny and deserves to see him. She suggests a weekend or even just a few hours at the park. “NO!” Billy booms. “No, that is not happening.” Chelsea says they’ll talk about this another time because she’s not giving up.

When Sharon comes home, she says she feels like Rey should ask her to marry him. Rey’s confused, but Sharon’s serious. She rattles off reasons why they should do this and argues that the perfect time may never arrive.

If Sharon dies, she wants to do it as Mrs. Rosales. If Sharon lives a long and healthy life for many years to come, then she wants to do that as Mrs. Rosales, too.

Rey would be honored to be Sharon’s husband and gets down on one knee. When Rey asks Sharon to marry, she quickly says yes. At the Grand Phoenix bar, Billy spots Kyle and knows that look – is it love or money? “Love sucks,” Kyle admits. Nearby, Summer’s lurking behind a magazine.
