The Young and the Restless Spoilers Review: Thursday, October 8 – Newmans Conspire to Get Adam Out of Town – Victoria Hotel Win Riles Phyllis

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers review for Thursday, October 8, reveals that a distraction is in order for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) gets Victor to meet her in the park, but he knows this must be about more than taking in the fall leaves.

They discuss Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), but Victor insists the real problem is “Billy Boy” Abbott (Jason Thompson).

In Billy’s suite at The Grand Phoenix, he’s putting a shirt on when Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) knocks and gets permission to enter. Lily’s thrown, but Billy notes that he was expecting room service.

Lily admits she decided to come check on Billy since she was in the building anyway and he said he’d be late this morning.

Billy shows Lily why and pulls up surveillance camera footage on his phone. There’s a cam in his room that caught Adam spying. On Thursday’s Young and the Restless episode, Billy points out that Adam didn’t get anything – but he’s about to.

At home, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has an icepack on her head and confesses she didn’t get much rest in the hospital. Adam wants to know why Chelsea was at Chance Comm to fall in that elevator.

Chelsea argues she was protecting her family, but Adam insists he said he’d handle this. Chelsea thought they were in this together and doesn’t get why Adam’s pushing her away.

In the Grand Phoenix lobby, Nick leaves Summer Newman (Hunter King) another voicemail and begs her to call him back. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) admits Summer hasn’t responded to her texts or calls either.

Phyllis steps away to take a call and points out she knows the loan has to be paid in full, but she’s not worried about that. Phyllis is more worried about the tax man coming with a big padlock, so she advises her employee to please get on that.

When Phyllis returns to Nick and argues that everything is good, he’s not buying it. “Liar,” Nick says.

In Chance Chancellor’s (Donny Boaz) suite, he wonders why it took him so long to figure out he was falling in love with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). Abby has to start her day, but Chance gives her a look of lust and thinks he knows the perfect way to do that.

After Chance beckons Abby to the bed, she drops her robe seductively and moves toward him.

After lovemaking and Chance’s shower, he tells Abby he’s so lucky to have met her. Abby suggests maybe it was more than that. Chance wonders if Abby means fate or destiny, so Abby guesses maybe so.

Chance is glad Abby’s going to play hooky with him today, so she wonders when she agreed to that. Abby talks about how she’s a Newman and gets antsy if she isn’t conquering the world by noon. Chance promises he’ll be exactly what Abby needs.

Back in the park, Nikki doesn’t think Billy is the source of their problems. She also feels Victoria will come around, but Victor argues that his daughter hasn’t apologized. Victor admits that he warned Victoria she’d be stripped of power if damage was done to the company.

Nikki warns that Adam is the real issue and insists Victor should get him to leave town. Victor counters that he’s a father to all his children. “If this were Nickolas or Victoria, would you suggest that I tell them to get the hell out of town?”

Victor asks. “If they were causing this much trouble, I just might!” Nikki fires back.

Victor tells Nikki that he appreciates her concerns and advises her to have a good time with the leaves. As Victor saunters off, Nikki looks frustrated and gets out her phone. At Newman Enterprises, Victoria’s on a video chat with Katie Abbott.

Katie complains about Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) not sharing the game again, so Victoria gives advice on how to handle him and promises a surprise later.

As Nick sits with Phyllis in the Grand Phoenix lobby, he tries to get to the bottom of what she’s up against. Phyllis doesn’t need Nick’s help, though she admits sales have been a little soft lately.

She just needs another idea, but she’s going to be fine. Nick receives a text from Nikki, so Phyllis pushes him to go help his mom. “This isn’t over,” Nick insists.

At the penthouse again, Chelsea realizes the power outage at Chance Comm was because of Adam. Adam explains he knows they’re going to put out more trash, so he was trying to find out what they had on him.

Chelsea’s upset about Adam’s secrets and feels like he’s using this crisis to push her away. Adam’s already told Chelsea why he’s protecting her and it’s not his fault if she doesn’t want to hear it.

After storming out, Adam ends up at Society and drinks at the bar. Billy appears and slides Adam a room key card. The next time Adam wants to ransack the place, he should just use that. “Wow, you get a pass from the asylum, Billy?” Adam asks. Billy thinks that’s a classic non-denial from Adam.

Adam argues that he doesn’t even know what he’s being accused of. Billy mocks Adam’s disguise and suggests the fact that Adam went digging shows he’s scared of what they have on him. It brings Billy joy to think it must consume Adam.

Adam says that Chelsea is fine – thanks for asking. Billy contends that he was with Chelsea when she came through and waited for the ambulance with her. Where was Adam? Ransacking Billy’s suite.

Adam argues that Billy’s bluffing and has nothing else on him. He warns that if Billy comes after him again, Billy will regret it. Billy argues that Adam’s such a giver – he just keeps giving Billy more to use.

Back in the park, Nikki tells Nick that she’s worried about angry Victor, who can’t see the forest for the trees. Nick presumes Adam is the tree in that scenario.

Nikki insists she told Victor that sending Adam out of town would alleviate so many of their problems. Nick admits he’s recommended that to Victor several times over the years, but his dad doesn’t like that.

Nikki thinks that’s because of Victor’s guilt over not being there for Adam in his childhood. She knows Nick doesn’t like to get involved, but she wants him to talk to Victor. This is too important for Nick to sit on the sidelines.

Nick notes that Victor doesn’t listen to him when it comes to his brother, but he does think he has a way to handle Adam.

Later, Chance and Abby continue all their flirting at the park. Talk turns to Abby growing up in both of her families’ shadows and the impact the Newman-Abbott dynamic had on her relationships.

Abby runs down all her exes and how never things worked out, but Chance is glad for the disasters since they found each other.

Chance admits being a Chancellor can’t with privileges, which are nothing to complain about. He was raised by a down to earth mother and never gave much thought to how being a Chancellor affected his relationships.

Chance acknowledges that maybe he used the baggage of being a Chancellor to avoid commitment – until here and now with Abby.

At the penthouse again, Chelsea downplays her icepack situation as a simple headache when Nick arrives. They discuss Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and how Chelsea plans to bring him back when everything calms down. Nick wonders when that will be since Adam’s just going to keep stirring things up.

Chelsea rants about how Nick wants to give her a speech about how he’s good and Adam’s bad. What does Nick expect her to do? Tell Adam to play nice on the playground or ground him? Nick insists Chelsea should convince Adam to leave town. Just pack up the car and go.

Nick argues that the “Chadam” family can always come back later since Nick does believe Connor should grow up around his cousins. It just doesn’t have to be now. Chelsea feels like Nick’s being heartless and wants him to leave.

At Chance Comm on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Billy’s hung up on taking down Adam through his sequel. Lily’s upset since she didn’t sign up to be part of Adam’s character assassination team. She wonders if Billy even cares about the company’s goals.

At Society later, Lily pitches ideas that Billy seems to find boring. Billy perks up over one involving “sexy female jewel thieves” who give back. Billy’s pleased about finding synergy, but Victor appears nearby and kills their vibe with a menacing glare.

At Newman Enterprises, Victoria gets off a call and points out that Phyllis has been going to their high-level partners even though they already have a deal to use the GCAC exclusively. If Victoria lets Phyllis get away with this, then what’s next?

Victoria’s planning a “very strong response.” This is about protecting the company, not her frustrations with Victor and Adam. Phyllis is just another Adam waiting to happen. “You give ‘em an inch, they take a mile,” Victoria insists. She refuses to give Phyllis an inch.

Victoria notes that Phyllis consolidates all her loans with an investment bank. One bad months and Phyllis will be done! Phyllis is so exposed that she’s practically naked.

Nikki’s worried about the path Victoria is headed down, but Victoria argues that this is just business. It’s not about Victor and she won’t grovel since Adam’s done far worse than Victoria.

Nikki points out that Nick is in love with Phyllis, but Victoria doesn’t think he’ll take the maneuver personally. Back at the Grand Phoenix, she learns a holding company bought the loan.

Phyllis doesn’t understand, but then things start to click. She brushes Nick off when he arrives and leaves to put out another fire.

Adam returns home to Chelsea and wants to talk things out. Chelsea shows Adam real estate listings by Connor’s school. She thinks they could relocate as a family and find somewhere to settle after Connor’s school year. “We have to leave. We have to get as far away from your family and Genoa City as possible,” Chelsea insists.

After Chance and Abby head to the zoo, they joke about how Abby was hung up on the swans. Abby notes that it’s because they mate for life. She admits that she’s not falling in love with Chance – she already loves him. Chance just didn’t want to scare Abby away and loves her, too.

In Victoria’s office, Phyllis figured out her plan due to the name of the holding company. Phyllis connects it to Victoria’s time in Italy and rants about Victoria creating a holding company for the sole purpose of buying Phyllis’ loan from the bank. “Now I own 75 percent of The Grand Phoenix,” Victoria says.

Phyllis thinks this is about Victoria holding a grudge over “all that JT stuff.” She rants about how Victoria doesn’t really want the hotel. This is Phyllis’ hotel! Phyllis brings up Nick, but Victoria thinks it’s only a matter of time until they break up again. She feels like Nick will eventually appreciate her savvy deal.

Victoria wants to know how much Phyllis wants for the remaining 25 percent of the hotel. Phyllis warns there’s “no way in hell” Victoria is getting that and adds that this isn’t over.

Back with Adam, he doesn’t get where this sudden desire to leave GC is coming from. Chelsea says this is about missing Connor and the fight against his enemies is only going to get messier.

“Let’s get out of here,” Chelsea begs. She feels a fresh start is what their family needs and pleads with Adam to leave Genoa City with her.
