The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers review for Tuesday, November 24, teases that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) has an “evolved” way of thinking about his situation according to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).
As they talk at Society, Devon admits he doesn’t think any one person is solely responsible for what went down between Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) – it’s just life.
Soon after, Devon gets the news via text that he’s been ordained and can marry Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway).
Meanwhile, Abby and Chance do some wedding planning in Chance’s suite. Although Abby had a fancy New York fashion designer lined up to take care of her dress for the big day, that plan fell through.
Abby still wants the dress to be spectacular since the wedding’s going to be so simple. Moments later, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) arrives and calls herself a “miracle worker.”
She reveals that she’s Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) assistant and has been sent to help with this fashion emergency.
At The Grand Phoenix lobby, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) doesn’t understand how his gun was found dismantled in a dumpster near Chancellor Communications.
He argues that he doesn’t know how to dismantle a gun at all – and hasn’t seen the gun in years since he kept it in a lockbox at Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) place for her safety.
Rey talks about the ballistics test confirming that the bullet found in Chance was fired from Billy’s gun. Billy urges Rey to get in touch if he learns anything else, so Rey saunters off and leaves Billy looking concerned.
At Newman Enterprises, Billy calls Victoria to ask if she’s seen his gun lately. Victoria hasn’t even thought about it in years. She’s stunned by Billy’s updates on a bullet from his gun ending up in Chance. Billy assumes the gun was stolen during the break-in a few weeks back.
Billy knows Rey will have questions for Victoria, so he tries to prep her – but then Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) arrives in Victoria’s office. Victoria hangs up abruptly, so Victor wonders what that phone call was about.
Back with Abby, she goes over designs with Sally and finds the perfect one. Sally promises to pressure the suppliers and seamstress to make sure this dress happens ASAP.
She offers a few design tweaks and talks about how thrilled she is to be working at Fenmore’s. Chance knows Sally’s going to go far in Genoa City.
Once Sally exits, Abby mentions her relief over the dress – though there’s still so much to do. Chance insists they’re just going to focus on what’s most important: love, family and the future they’re making together.
At Newman Enterprises, Victor’s surprised to learn Victoria thinks Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) stole the gun, hired someone to shoot him and then framed Billy. “He has concocted elaborate schemes before,” Victoria insists. “This isn’t outside the realm of possibility.”
Victor thinks that’s nonsense and argues that the truth is staring Victoria in the face. He contends that the case is just as it seems – that Billy hates Adam and Chance got in the way of revenge.
Next, Victoria learns Victor had Adam committed. She doesn’t think that’ll do any good, but she can appreciate that Victor actually sees Adam as dangerous.
At Adam’s facility, Young Adam (Dane West) says it’s better not to fight this. Adam doesn’t think he deserves to be locked up and blames everyone else for driving him to this point.
Young Adam disagrees and notes that Adam was so mad at Dad for not getting him help – now Dad’s doing it. This is Adam’s chance to get rid of the monster. “Isn’t that what you want?” Young Adam asks.
Later, Victor shows up to see Adam, who wants him to drop the look of fatherly concern. Victor argues that it’s genuine, but Adam pushes Victor to get him out of there.
When Victor insists he can’t, Adam fires back that Victor can do anything. “You’re Victor damn Newman!” Adam shouts.
Adam promises to renounce all things Newman and leave town if Victor will agree. That way they all get what they want – Adam will be gone. Victor urges Adam to calm down and then points out he had nothing do to with Victoria’s efforts to drive him away or sign that document.
Adam feels like what will heal him is to get away from Victor and his need to control everything. He made a plan to end Victor’s control, but he stopped it. Adam feels like that should be proof he’s not insane.
As Adam continues to argue with Victor, Young Adam reappears. He wants Adam to listen to Victor or else he’ll be locked up forever. “You could die in here!” Young Adam exclaims. “Just shut up!” Adam warns his younger self repeatedly.
Victor raises an eyebrow and looks at the empty corner Adam’s shouting at. He seems to realize Adam is hallucinating and calls for an orderly.
Abby meets up with Devon and Mariah at Society, where Devon says he’s officially been ordained. Abby’s thrilled over how everything’s coming together for her nuptials.
As for Victoria, she gets a visit from Rey and faces questions about the gun. Victoria tells Rey about the break-in six weeks or so ago, though she didn’t report it. Rey wonders if Billy confronted Adam about the incident.
Victoria argues that Adam is the troubled one and has been committed. Billy wouldn’t risk everything according to Victoria, who insists her ex is innocent. Billy arrives just before Rey leaves, so Rey says he doesn’t want Billy to leave town since he may have more questions.
Once they’re alone, Billy thanks Victoria for having his back. He admits he told Rey that he wouldn’t have lost sleep if that bullet had found its mark. “Maybe don’t be so open with the homicide detective,” Victoria says.
Billy was just being honest, but he notes that Chancellor Communications if a far more lethal weapon. “As long as you’re aiming it in the right direction,” Victoria says. Billy promises the Newmans don’t have to worry since he’s stepped down temporarily.
Victoria thinks Billy seems nervous, so Billy feels like Adam is manipulating things behind the scenes. Billy suggests Adam must be “happy as a clam” right now. “No, he’s not,” Victoria insists on Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode.
At Adam’s facility again, Victor looks heartbroken in the hall as Adam yells at the orderly to get his hands off and step away from him. Adam calls out to Victor and ask if he’s happy now – if this is what he wanted. “Do you feel like you’ve won?” Adam asks.
Abby keeps chatting with Devon and Mariah, who has some great news about her new job at Jabot. She’s accepted the position as the head of marketing, so Abby says she wishes she could be a fly on the wall for Mariah’s first day.
Mariah wonders if there’s some reason she should be concerned, but Abby just insists that things can get pretty intense in the Jabot boardroom. Mariah argues that she’s ready for that challenge. It’ll be nice to be making money again instead of being a “stay-at-home girlfriend” and “kept woman.”
Abby reflects on Chance getting shot and fearing that all love had been lost. She then worries she’s reminded Devon of Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan). Devon reassures Abby and lightens the mood with a joke.
When asked about kids, Abby thinks three sounds like a good number. She wants to share the world with her children and nourish all their interests. Abby can’t wait to see what a great father Chance will be. She appreciates everything Devon and Mariah are doing to make this wedding happen.
Chance finds Rey looking through evidence and crime scene photos on his phone. Rey admits it’s one step forward and two steps back on the investigation. When the topic of the wedding comes up, Chance notes that he doesn’t want to waste any more time due to what he’s been through.
Rey recaps the case, so Chance suggests it’s a “pretty neat package.” Rey thinks maybe it’s too neat, so they debate Victoria’s theory about Adam hiring someone to shoot him.
Chance doesn’t think Adam would resort to such a stupid plan, but he acknowledges that it was dumb for the person to leave the gun dismantled in the dumpster. Rey doesn’t think it’s the move of a professional killer.
Chance notes that Rey could bring Billy in based on the evidence. Rey insists he’s being thorough and wants everything on this case to be on the up and up. When Rey does bring in the person responsible, he intends to make sure it’s the right culprit.
Chance learns Adam’s been committed and admits maybe it’s for the best since Adam’s been unhinged for a while. Rey wonders if Adam was unhinged enough to hire someone to shoot him. Chance says it’s not out of the realm of possibility under the circumstances.
Once Chance is gone, Rey talks to Paul Williams (Doug Davidsn) on the phone. He reveals that Victoria sidestepped the question about Billy confronting Adam after the break-in.
Rey feels like there’s part of Victoria that thinks Billy’s capable of doing something like this. Rey isn’t counting out Adam either and expects the evidence will lead him to an answer soon.
At Newman Enterprises again, Billy learns that Adam was admitted to a psych ward. He’s surprised to learn Victor would accept that Adam is psychotic – though he wonders if Victor may have made a preemptive move to protect Adam. There’s a built-in defense for any charges since Adam’s in a mental hospital.
Billy doesn’t think Victoria seems entirely convinced of his innocence, but he vows to get the proof and clear his name. “I’m gonna have to get inside the head of the person who framed me – and if that is Adam, that’s a scary place to be,” Billy says.
After Victoria escorts Billy back to The Grand Phoenix, he thanks Victoria for everything she did to help. Billy doesn’t want to drag Victoria any deeper into this, but Victoria’s still fearful.
“Well, I don’t want to have to bring out kids to visit you in prison,” Victoria says. Billy promises that won’t happen and insists he always lands on his feet.
Victor sits with Adam, who has his hands and legs in restraints. After Victor pushes Adam to get better and reunite with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), Adam ignores him. Victor ends up drinking alone at Society looking glum.
As for Adam, he has a vision of Chelsea in his room on Tuesday’s Y&R episode. Chelsea says “let’s get out of here” and wants Adam to come home with her. Adam soon realizes it’s just a hallucination and looks frustrated.
At the coffeehouse, Sally sounds chipper on the phone with her sister, Coco Spectra (Courtney Grosbeck). After Sally gushes about the progress she’s making in town, she pretends someone needs her down the hall and ends the call quickly.
Once Chance reconvenes with Abby in his suite, they discuss wedding plans again. The dress will be ready in time, so Chance says all they have to do is show and profess their love in front of all their loved ones. Abby can’t wait and makes out with Chance on the sofa.
