The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers review for Wednesday, November 25, teases that the Thanksgiving celebration is underway at the Abbott mansion. Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) can’t make it, so she sent flowers instead.
The holiday won’t be the same without Traci, but Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) intends to make sure all the food gets on the table when it’s supposed to.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) jokes around with Ashley, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) before someone shows up at the door.
Kyle fears it’s Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), but Jack has invited somebody more pleasant instead. He opens the door and reveals Summer Newman (Hunter King), who brought pumpkin and pecan pies.
In Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) suite, she praises herself for not making a big deal out of spending the day with Nick Newman’s (Eric Braeden) ex-wife.
Nick knows Phyllis is capable of getting along with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and praises Phyllis for being so supportive while Sharon was going through chemo.
Nick feels like helping out with the meal for the homeless is preferable to spending Thanksgiving at the Newman ranch. Phyllis agrees she’d rather eat nails than do that! Once Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) calls, he shocks Nick with the news that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has been committed.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon’s grateful for Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) generous donation. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) mentions Devon getting ordained, so Devon jokes about being Reverend Hamilton now and is available if Sharon needs him.
Sharon will keep that in mind, but Mariah suggests Devon should start small by blessing the food.
On the patio, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) runs into Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). They exchange awkward Thanksgiving greetings before Amanda wonders about Elena’s plans for the holiday. Elena has just finished a clinic shift and admits she’ll probably celebrate by going to bed and getting some sleep.
Once Elena takes off, Devon sees Amanda and updates her on Crimson Lights being closed today. He talks about the annual event for the homeless being takeout style this year.
Devon invites Amanda to come over for Thanksgiving dinner, but she wants to be with a friend who needs her. When Devon points out that Amanda could always pop in for coffee or dessert, Amanda thinks that sounds like a plan.
At Devon’s penthouse, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) looks at recipe cards and calls Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to invite him to Thanksgiving dinner. Nate puts up a fight, but Lily begs him to “please come with cranberries on top.”
Back at the Abbott house, Summer puts the pies in the kitchen and notes that they have the exact same taste in pies. “I haven’t forgotten what you like,” Kyle says with a sweet smile.
Summer has a little moment with him, so Jack excuses himself to check on dinner. Summer assures Kyle that she can leave if he has a problem with her being there, but Kyle’s glad she came.
At the coffeehouse, Mariah checks in with Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind), who unconvincingly assures her sister that everything’s great. Once Mariah follows Faith into the kitchen, Victor and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) show up to offer their help to Sharon.
Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Sharon ask about Adam, so Victor admits he’s having a rough time. However, Sharon and Victor agree putting Adam in that facility was the right call. Up at Elena and Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) apartment, Elena looks in the freezer and plops down in a chair looking glum.
Amanda gets on the intercom and asks if she can come up, so Elena buzzes her in. Once Elena opens the door, Amanda guesses Elena was hoping she was someone else.
Since Amanda didn’t have anything else going on, she thought she’d spend the day with Elena. Although Elena doesn’t know if she deserves this much kindness, she’s not the least bit disappointed that Amanda rang her bell.
At Devon’s penthouse again, he scolds Lily for being so messy in the kitchen. Devon mentions that Amanda may stop by for dessert later. “You can never have too many people over for Thanksgiving, right?” Devon says.
Lily’s glad to hear that because she invited someone else and doesn’t want Devon to be angry about it. The only person Devon would have a problem with is Nate – and that’s exactly who it is. Lily argues that Nate is alone today and makes a strong case for why he should be included.
Nate shows up, which brings immediate tension. He thought Devon would know he was coming and offers to go, but Lily stops him. Lily makes a speech about their splintering family and wants to make it whole again – even if it’s just for today.
Later, Nate talks how he can stir the gravy with one hand. Devon points out that Elena’s back at the clinic, which Nate thinks is a good thing.
Over with Billy on Wednesday’s Young and the Restless episode, he tells Summer that he really hopes she works things out with Kyle. “You know, he can be a little bit smug, but he’s a decent guy.
And you can be a little bit of a brat, but you’re a decent person. Really, you two are perfect for each other,” Billy notes.
Summer wonders if that was supposed to be supportive, but Billy says this is coming from the “the brattiest and the smuggest of them all.” Summer contends that she still hates Billy and pushes him to go be a jerk somewhere else. “What Summer wants, Summer gets,” Billy quips.
Kyle returns from his business call and realize Summer’s been dealing with Billy. He’s apologetic, but Summer promises she doesn’t need rescuing. Kyle can’t help but feel like he should protect Summer.
After Jack gathers everyone for a speech, he pulls Billy aside to offer him some consulting work at Jabot. Billy thinks this is about keeping him out of trouble while the investigation’s going on.
Jack doesn’t think it’s any different than when he was dealing with his addiction and Billy looked out for him. It’s what brothers do.
Billy doesn’t agree and decides he’ll skip the turkey, which clearly comes with a side of moral judgment. He opts to go see his kids since they don’t have knives out for him! Jack tries to stop Billy from leaving, but Billy tells him to save it.
After dinner, Summer takes off abruptly – and Kyle isn’t far behind. Jack is confused, but Kyle says he’s taking his cue from his dad and following through on what Jack started. Kyle makes it back to his suite, where Summer has let herself in with the room key Kyle slipped her.
Since Summer used that key, Kyle wonders what it means. “You tell me?” Summer asks. Kyle and Summer acknowledge their mistakes. Summer reflects on her stupid insecurities, so Kyle’s ready to hash everything out no matter how long it takes.
Summer doesn’t want to hash things out or even talk. She can’t overthink this – not again.
Phyllis makes her way to Crimson Lights with Nick, who steps away while Phyllis talks to Sharon. Phyllis alludes to what happened the other night with Faith, so Sharon plays along to find out what she’s talking about. Phyllis notes that if that hangover didn’t put Faith off alcohol, then Nick definitely did.
Sharon looks upset as Phyllis praises Nick for how he handled it. Although Sharon tries to talk to Nick on the patio, he has to take off and deliver food along with Faith.
Once Sharon’s alone, Phyllis reappears to ask about cleaning supplies. She can tell Sharon’s distracted and asks if something’s wrong. “Figure it out,” Sharon snaps and stomps off.
Later, Phyllis catches up with Nick and hints at a problem. Before Phyllis can explain, an irritated Sharon tells Nick they need to talk. Phyllis hastily excuses herself and heads back to The Grand Phoenix.
“What the hell, Nick?” Sharon says to her ex. “I have to find out from Phyllis? Were you ever going to tell me that our daughter was drinking alcohol?”
Sharon lashes out when she realizes Nick was coddling her. After the way they lost Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes), Sharon is especially outraged over being kept in the dark. Faith overhears part of the conversation and is distraught over her dad blabbing.
Faith insists Nick got through to her, but Sharon argues that they don’t get to make deals behind her back. She intends to punish Faith as well. Faith repeatedly apologizes and hopes they can just forget this, but Sharon says this is a “big, big deal.”
She wants Faith to be honest and let her parents in. Faith cries as Sharon insists she’s not fragile and invites her daughter to lean on her.
As Amanda enjoys a drink with Elena, she asks about Elena’s interest in Nate. It makes Elena uncomfortable, but Amanda wants to get past the weirdness. She has a feeling Nate will be a fabulous partner for a lucky lady out there.
Elena admits Amanda was right about her not knowing what she wants, but lately things are becoming clearer. That makes it complicated since Elena doesn’t want to hurt Devon. Amanda understands, but she has a feeling Devon will be just fine.
Once Elena and Amanda have their takeout, Lola comes home and comments on how cozy this is. Elena feels like it’s incredible to know such warm and generous people. Amanda thinks Elena is one of those people, too.
Elena now knows she’ll never be what Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) was to Devon. Amanda notes that no one ever will. The real question is what Elena wants to be to Nate.
Elena acknowledges that Nate cares about her. The more Elena thinks about that, the more she likes it. Afterward, Elena texts Nate to wish him a happy Thanksgiving.
Back with Lily, she informs Nate and Devon that she’s got some “uh, business” to discuss with Billy. They’re baffled since Billy stepped down and it’s a national holiday, but Lily argues that the media never sleeps.
Things remain tense between Devon and Nate after Lily leaves. They finally acknowledge that Lily expects them to have a heart-to-heart and put the past behind them. That won’t happen today, but Nate wonders if it ever will. Devon guesses this is the first step, so Nate says he’s glad they were able to take it.
Billy meets up with Lily at Society, where he grumbles about Jack’s view of him. Billy suggests a drink unless Lily has somewhere else she needs to be. “No, I think I’m exactly where I need to be right now,” Lily insists on Wednesday’s Y&R episode.
Meanwhile, Victor wonders what Adam really has to be grateful for. Nikki notes that no matter what, Victor’s love hasn’t died. She wants Victor to count his blessings, so they acknowledge their love and share a heartfelt moment together.
