The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the CBS soap will need to raise the stakes and try to pull fans back in with new storylines. Now that Bold and the Beautiful is airing new episodes again, those episodes serve as a good model of exactly what Y&R should be doing.
B&B’s wrapping up some stories quickly and kicking off brand-new ones with exciting drama. Their first week back includes a kidnapping, a pregnancy trap, an urgent rescue, a motorcycle accident, a hospital crisis and a new love interest.
There are many other shockers promised in The Bold and the Beautiful’s latest preview video, so B&B’s really making an effort.
Will we see the same effort from Y&R when their new episodes hit the screen? Let’s hope so! One thing that could help The Young and the Restless would be a new mystery.
They wrapped up an easy one when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was revealed as AJ Montalvo’s killer – a conclusion that numerous fans had already figured out.
Maybe Y&R should go with a more complicated and intriguing mystery this time around. They could offer something with plenty of twists and turns to keep viewers guessing. Should the GCPD tackle another major case?
The JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) saga offered tons of drama back when Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) was following the clues. It’d be nice to see another stunning mystery storyline in new episodes.
Since there’s always a huge push from Doug Davidson’s (Paul Williams) fans to see more of Paul, this would be a great opportunity. Paul and Rey could solve a potential new case together.
Rey should get back in his usual groove at work once Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) on the road to recovery. Although Rey’s mostly been serving as Sharon’s cheerleader, he’ll eventually have to break out of that supportive boyfriend role and do some other things.
Rey needs a challenge on the job, so perhaps he’ll get one.
Y&R’s been shooting outdoors more often, so that could put Paul and Rey outside to follow a trail or two. There’d be lots of possibilities to explore. Now that Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes) is behind bars, who will be the next character in the slammer?
The Young and the Restless is due for another crime story – and it’s the perfect time since they need to rev up the action in new episodes.
