The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) could be mixed up in even more drama. If you followed Sally’s story on The Bold and the Beautiful, you know that Sally’s been known to carry out some shady schemes – including stealing designs and faking a terminal illness.
Sally certainly isn’t a saint, so it should come as no surprise that she’s currently scheming against Summer Newman (Hunter King). The question is: Could Summer be scheming against Newman Enterprises, too? Let’s look at the potential evidence and try to figure out exactly what Sally is up to.
Before Sally ever made her Y&R debut, The Young and the Restless spoilers said her agenda would slowly unravel. There were hints about multiple angles and connections that’d be explored. In other words, it’s never seemed as simple as Sally coming to Genoa City for a fresh start.
After all, GC is kind of a weird place to pick anyway. Sally only has an executive assistant position at this point. She could’ve scored that in some other major city and tried to scheme her way to the top somewhere besides Wisconsin.
Maybe there’s a deeper reason why Sally selected Genoa City as a new place to plant roots in – something beyond knowing Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and being able to get her foot in the door.
That brings us to Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin Fisher’s (Greg Rikaart) latest discovery. After finding the thumb drive and looking at what’s on it in the December 22 episode, Kevin and Chloe are left reeling over Gloria Fisher Bardwell’s (Judith Chapman) secrets.
It turns out someone has been siphoning funds to the tune of $2.3 million from the Newman Enterprises – and this person’s based out of the office in Los Angeles.
There’s proof of wire transfers from a California bank to the Cayman Islands. Somebody has been stealing money from Newman and sending the cash through a third party to an offshore account.
Of course, we have to consider why Y&R writers selected the Los Angeles office for this story – especially since that’s exactly where Sally just moved from. Sally’s great-aunt – the original Sally Spectra (Darlene Conley) – also happens to be living in the tropics, so there’s a chance she’s mixed up in all this.
There are plenty of ways Sally could fit in this storyline – and plenty of ways for it to come back to bite her! Chloe and Kevin wonder about where Gloria got the information in the December 22 episode, so maybe it came from Sally.
Sally might’ve handed over the info if she was being blackmailed or gained some sort of advantage.
Then again, maybe Sally’s in on the Newman theft operation through her scheming great-aunt. It’s possible Sally’s poised to get a cut of a big payday or has been given some financial help until she makes her fashion dreams come true.
On the other hand, there’s a chance The Young and the Restless might make Sally the hero who exposes the real culprit. Sally might overhear a conversation soon and know someone who sneaky who worked in the Newman office in LA.
Perhaps Sally could get on Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) good side if she reveals who’s stealing from him.
The point is Sally is from Los Angeles and has been mixed up in shady things in the past. Now Y&R’s introduced a story based out of Los Angeles that’s about more shady things, so it’s not a stretch to think Sally might tie in with this somehow. We’ll offer updates as other news comes in.
