The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) has had a tough time dealing with her feelings toward Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) lately.
As Y&R viewers will remember, Faith encountered Adam talking with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) at Crimson Lights recently, and she totally exploded at Adam. Faith ranted about all the things Adam has done over the year and got a lot off her chest, but there was something else underlying Faith’s frustration, too.
Specifically, Faith just can’t seem to understand why Sharon insists on being nice and forgiving toward Adam. We suspect that Faith is pretty upset with her mom for being civil to Adam and for helping him when he’s in crisis.
It’s got to be very confusing, and that plus the stress of Sharon’s recent cancer battle has left Faith really raw on an emotional level.
Well, for the past couple of weeks, Sharon has managed to mostly stay away from Adam. Other than the instance when he tracked her down at Crimson Lights and Faith exploded, Sharon and Adam haven’t really interacted with each other.
But we suspect that Adam could be soon facing a mental health crisis, and you can bet that Sharon will probably come running.
Adam has seemed really off lately, as he’s been hallucinating and “seeing” Young Adam (Dane West) on a regular basis. Plus, Adam seems to have crossed over into very dark and disturbing territory as he had Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) kidnapped and has been plotting some sort of terror incident at Newman Tower.
In fact, there’s probably a good chance that Adam could be diagnosed with very serious mental illness.
We have to remember that Sharon has a well-managed mental illness of her own, and if Adam is similarly diagnosed, then he’ll probably want Sharon’s help, and Sharon will probably want to give it.
Might we see Sharon and Adam bond once again over their shared struggles with mental illness? If so, then that will probably be the end of the line for Sharon and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).
But it could also cause huge troubles in Sharon and Faith’s relationship, too. In fact, if Sharon and Adam were to get closer, then it doesn’t seem at all likely that Faith would ever understand this, especially now, after the exposé that was written about Adam.
Faith is already prone to acting out and sneaking around with her new friend Jordan (Madison Thompson), but if Sharon cozies up to Adam again, then Faith will probably really freak out.
We’ll see what ultimately happens, but we could see some major estrangement between Faith and Sharon if Sharon goes running back to Adam again.
