The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will have a romantic afternoon – just the two of them. Kyle and Summer will step away from the office for what appears to be a picnic in the park. It’ll be a chance to relax together with a bottle of bubbly and a deep conversation.
Kyle will feel like he’s right where he wants to be, but Summer will throw him for a loop soon after. In a new Y&R preview video for the week of August 24-28, Summer makes a surprising confession.
“You know, I would say that I couldn’t be happier, but I could be happier,” Summer admits. Kyle looks a bit concerned by that comment, so he’ll naturally wonder what Summer means.
Of course, Summer’s not going to dump Kyle or suggest they should see other people. It won’t be that serious, but whatever Summer has in mind will undoubtedly affect “Skyle’s” relationship.
The Young and the Restless spoilers point to Summer’s stunning choice in the week ahead. There’s no confirmation on what that choice might be, but there are some good options to consider.
An easy one might be a career shakeup. Perhaps Summer won’t feel like she’s being challenged all that much at Jabot anymore. Summer might even think they’d be better off working at separate places – just to ensure they don’t have too much “togetherness.”
That was an issue that came up back when Summer was dating Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), so it might come up with Kyle as well.
Summer loves being with Kyle, but she may worry that blurring personal and professional lines isn’t going to work long-term. Since big changes are happening at Newman Enterprises, it’s possible Victoria Newman (Hunter King) will find a place for Summer there.
However, the more likely career opportunity would probably involve Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and her new venture. Phyllis might rope Summer into helping out at The Grand Phoenix now that she’s adding an escape club for women.
On the other hand, Summer may have a totally different decision in mind. This might involve bumping up the timeline on buying that dream house they’ve talked about. It’s tough to believe marriage would be on Summer’s mind just yet, but Summer may be ready for some form of a step forward.
Whatever the case, it’ll be interesting to see how Kyle responds and how this will inevitably lead to trouble down the road. As other Y&R news rolls in, we’ll deliver more updates.
