The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) romance has some issues under the surface. Summer keeps trying to pretend everything’s fine, but she obviously has insecurities due to Kyle’s lingering bond with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle).
Of course, that lingering bond is also a problem for Kyle, who can’t seem to let go in the way that he should. All of this is building somewhere, so there’s a good chance Summer will either back out of eloping or will perhaps regret it afterward.
Whether Summer refuses to say “I do” or ends up wanting an annulment, things just aren’t looking good here. Y&R wouldn’t be planting these insecure clues for no reason.
Summer has to deal with her doubts – and Kyle has to truly close the door on Lola. They can’t keep ignoring their underlying issues if they want to establish a solid romance that’ll carry them into the future.
Unfortunately, things may get worse for Summer and Kyle before they get better. Kyle will certainly feel blindsided and hurt if Summer insists she doesn’t want to be married to him.
Y&R fans know Kyle has repeatedly assured Summer that she’s the only woman for him. Kyle’s tried to argue that he’s simply worried about Lola, which honestly makes sense considering how he tossed her aside.
Even so, it’s easy to see how Summer would be concerned. Kyle jumped right into a reunion with Summer – and the ink was barely dry on Kyle’s divorce papers when he suggested eloping.
This is all happening so fast, which is really Summer and Kyle’s main problem. There’s no rush, but they just keep jumping on to the next phase before they’re ready.
However, there’s no need to stop that trend now! Based on how everything’s played out for “Skyle” so far, The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest a baby bomb may drop next.
Kyle and Summer have been flying through all their major milestones, so another one may be on the horizon. A surprise pregnancy could force Summer and Kyle to reexamine their feelings and what really matters.
Perhaps a baby could pull Kyle closer to Summer and help him see that he made the right choice. Kyle may stop fretting over Lola so much and focus on his new family instead.
Still, there’ll always be a part of Kyle that cares about Lola – and Summer may learn to be OK with that. A baby could help Summer mature and see that Kyle’s all in as both a husband and a father.
