The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 23, teases that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will bring Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) up to speed on his confrontation with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Victor will confess that he told Adam the truth, but Adam’s memories are buried too deep and he accused his father of lying.
Nikki should be blamed to some extent according to Victor. He’ll gripe about her telling Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) when he asked Nikki to keep this quiet. Nikki will rant about Adam never having to face consequences. She’ll feel like Adam’s stuck in this dangerous, never-ending pattern.
Despite facing a similar experience as a child, Nikki won’t be able to show true compassion for Adam. Since Adam isn’t some helpless kid anymore, Nikki won’t think he deserves sympathy. She’ll think Adam’s a predator at this point.
At Crimson Lights, Victoria will bump into Adam and assume he’s been told the truth. Adam will insist Victor and Victoria cooked this whole thing up. Y&R spoilers say Adam and Victoria will spar over who’s really worthy of the throne.
Victoria won’t think Adam deserves it – and she’ll suggest he knows that deep down. Adam will tell Victoria to “go to hell.”
Later, Adam will share his terrible day with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). At the penthouse, Adam will note that Victor fired him and came up with the perfect fall guy. Victor claims Adam killed AJ Montalvo, so Adam will shock Chelsea with the news.
Adam will be bothered by Hope Wilson’s (last played by Beth Toussaint) inclusion in the story, but that’ll get Chelsea thinking. If this is a setup, why would Victor claim Adam was protecting Hope?
Why not just argue that Adam was a cold-blooded killer? Adam will question if part of Chelsea believes Victor’s claims, but she’ll suggest she’s just trying to deal with the shock of it all.
Chelsea will promise Adam that they’ll keep Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) in the dark. At the ranch, Victor will scold Victoria when she shows up. Victoria will think she was the one who was wronged here.
Adam blackmailed Victor, but Victoria had to suffer for that. Victor will protest that he was going to give the CEO seat back to Victoria. He won’t think Victoria had to blow things up for Adam.
When Victoria refuses to apologize for handling a threat against the company, Victor will once again complain. This wasn’t info that Victor wanted to use as ammunition. Victor will be frustrated with Victoria for not grasping that it could ruin Adam’s life.
Victoria will make it clear that she’ll do whatever it takes to protect Newman Enterprises and their family. Although Victoria has earned the CEO title back, she’s lost her father’s respect. Victoria will let Victor know she can live with that.
After Victoria exits, Victor will look glum and pensive as he sits. Nikki will walk over to touch Victor’s arm and offer a little comfort. As for Victoria, she’ll make her way back to Newman Enterprises and reclaim her chair.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will find Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) ordering takeout from Society. Mariah will snap at Theo, but she’ll ultimately offer an apology.
Theo will note that Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) has been worried about Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), who’s dating Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). That’ll lead to the realization that something might be wrong, so Theo will ask if Sharon’s OK. Mariah will insist that Sharon will be.
Theo will reflect on coming home to his sick mom before her death and how much it meant to her. He’ll think Sharon must appreciate having Mariah nearby. Mariah will talk about coming into Sharon’s life later, which Theo never would’ve guessed since they’re so close.
Mariah will admit she used to be an awful human being, but she absorbed some of Sharon’s decency eventually. Although Mariah didn’t get to spend her childhood with Sharon, she’ll suggest she thought she had decades to make up for it. Mariah will now worry that maybe she doesn’t.
Theo will give Mariah a pep talk and let her know she’s doing what she should be doing for Sharon. Once Theo opens up about his stolen pitch that got him fired, he’ll confess that he choked under the pressure.
Mariah will understand why, but she’ll think maybe Theo can find a job that’s a better fit. She’ll add that people like them take a little longer to get their act together.
That said, Mariah will offer a warning about hurting Lola. Theo will get that he’s a dead man if that happens. He’ll appreciate Mariah’s supportive words about his job search.
At a nearby table, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will listen to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) talk about Adam. Although Amanda will pick up on a complex history, Billy won’t want to get into it.
Once Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) appears, she’ll notice Billy and Amanda’s easy vibe. Talk will eventually turn to targeting the younger demographic and how they get most of their information from social media. Theo will look thoughtful as he listens in on the chat about staying ahead of trends.
