The Young and the Restless spoilers for Tuesday, July 7, tease that viewers will see an encore episode that originally aired on July 4, 2005. The episode will be part of “Summer Fun Week” and will feature a fun summer barbecue hosted by Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman) and attended by the Abbott family and friends.
But first, drama will be unfolding between Mackenzie “Mac” Browning (Ashley Bashioum), who will hear from JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) and Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodland) that they’re against her returning to the loft. Mac will feel terribly hurt by this, and she’ll lash out at JT over his actions.
Meanwhile, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be feeling down over not having hosted a Newman barbecue this year. Victor will do his best to lift Nikki’s spirits by surprising her with a romantic dinner at the club.
Nikki and Victor will dance happily, and Victor will give Nikki the gift of a three-week cruise around the Greek Isles. Nikki will say that this is exactly what she needs.
And over with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), he’ll reveal to Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) that he has been out looking for his biological mother. Drucilla will question Devon about whether he’s been feeling left out of the family due to all the attention they’ve been giving Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) as of late.
Drucilla will understand why Devon feels that he wants to find his biological mom, but she’ll insist that she or Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) go with him when he looks for her again.
At the Abbott house, Gloria will act as hostess at the barbecue, as Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) observes to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that she’s never seen Gloria so excited about something. Jack will agree, and he’ll say that John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) looks pretty happy, too.
Various people will arrive to the barbecue, including Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman), and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart). Gloria will be happy to have them there and that everyone is together for the day.
Others will be on hand as well, including Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore), who will offer to take some candid shots of the party. Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) will have brought Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), which will raise Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) eyebrows.
Noah Newman (Hunter Allan) will be there along with Sharon, and he’ll want to go swimming, even telling her that Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) will be his guardian angel and will look after him. Sharon will be touched.
Other little conversations will take place during the barbecue, and Gloria will be on cloud nine as Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) tells her what a great party it is. Jack and Brad will catch up, with Brad explaining that he’s been spending time with Abby Newman (Darcy Rose Byrnes) and enjoying life.
Jack will say that Jill could use a right-hand man, but Brad will flatly refuse.
Meanwhile, Malcolm will talk with Jill about when he’ll come back to Jabot, and Kevin will be grateful to John for inviting his family to the barbecue. Kevin will think that he’s never seen his mother so happy, and John will agree, saying that he’s falling for Gloria all over again.
Finally, Gloria will offer a toast in front of the group to commemorate Michael and Lauren’s upcoming wedding.
