The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Thursday, December 10, reveals that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is terrified about her appointment with a specialist and frustrated that this is happening now.
Chelsea grumbles to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about how they were all set to start their new life with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Adam isn’t giving up on that dream, but they have to know what Chelsea’s up against first.
At Society, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) talks to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) being the heart and soul of Chancellor Communications. That’s why it makes no sense for Billy to be the shooter.
Though the evidence does point pretty hard in Billy’s direction, it seems manufactured. “I was just wondering if maybe you had something to do with that?” Lily asks Victor.
Next, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) gets ready for her meeting with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). Billy’s curious about what Michael’s intentions are, but Amanda warns that he should let her do all the talking.
Once Michael appears in the interview room, he suggests they can avoid the expense and embarrassment of a public trial if Billy will plead guilty to second degree intentional homicide.
At the Chancellor mansion on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston) carries Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) in his arms while Miles Fisher cries. Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) struggles to calm the kid down as Chance welcomes Abby home.
Abby and Chance end up babysitting Miles for Chloe, which leads to a spit-up disaster and some diaper drama. However, Miles eventually settles down and seem comfortable as Abby holds him. Chance and Abby gush about how pretty soon, it’ll be their own baby that Abby’s holding in her arms.
Back at Society, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) approaches Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and updates her on the Abbotts’ latest offer, which he viewed as an insult. Sally refuses to spy any more for Theo, who reminds her of their deal. “What deal? You’ve done nothing for me,” Sally insists.
Sally feels like she would’ve figured out Summer Newman (Hunter King) was insanely jealous and territorial over Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) eventually – though Theo did give her a head start.
Theo doesn’t want Sally’s advice, but she gives it anyway. Sally feels like Theo should take the offer and use it to start a new life. “You hate this place, so why prolong the agony?” Sally wonders.
Theo snarks about how Sally thinks she’s got it all figured out. If Sally believes she can go one-on-one with Victor’s granddaughter without his help, then Theo invites her to take her best shot. Theo predicts Sally will find herself with a one-way ticket back to LA.
At Crimson Lights, Summer Newman (Hunter King) tells Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) what she’ll need to know as she takes over Summer’s role at Jabot. Mariah fishes for personal details, but Summer isn’t interested in discussing that.
After Mariah points out Kyle is her friend, Summer tries to appease her by suggesting they realized they belong together and are working it out. No one will get in the way.
Back with Lily, she reminds Victor that he once framed Adam for murder. Lily knows Victor has it in him, but Victor warns Lily her loyalty in Billy is misplaced – though it’s commendable.
Lily keeps pushing Victor to admit framing Billy, but he finds her hypothesis thin and insists the wheels of justice are turning.
Over with Michael again, he warns about the mountain of evidence against Billy – including an eyewitness. Amanda wonders if this eyewitness is claiming he or she actually saw Billy pull the trigger. “If they are, they’re lying,” Billy insists.
According to Michael, Billy is the only one who’s definitely lying about that day. They continue to debate, but Michael argues that Billy has until 5:00 p.m. to accept the deal. The offer goes away after that.
At the penthouse again, Adam understands why Chelsea downplayed her illness, but he wants her to be honest with him from now on. They opt to leave Connor out of the loop to protect him.
Chelsea’s glad she has Adam to lean on. Before they can head out the door to see Chelsea’s specialist, Victor appears at the door. He says he just wanted a chance to say a proper goodbye.
Chelsea admits there’ll be plenty of time for that. Adam cuts Chelsea off and says they need to get going. Victor seems suspicious over the delayed departure, but Adam says it’s none of his business. As far as Adam’s concerned, Victor is no longer part of their lives and they have no connection.
Before Victor leaves, he says his actions when Adam was a boy came out of a place of concern and caring. Victor hopes Adam can understand that one day.
At Jabot, Sally brings Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) some paperwork and notes that she urged Theo to accept the Abbotts’ offer. Jack finds out that Theo feels insulted – and Kyle hears that news as well once he arrives.
Kyle isn’t exactly surprised since Theo has always been greedy. He brings up his party days in New York with Theo, so Sally says she was unaware of their history.
Sally can’t blame Kyle for disliking Theo and scoffs over pretending to be his friend. Kyle chuckles and thinks it’s rare for someone to admit to using somebody.
Sally shrugs that there’s no point in lying because the truth usually comes out anyway. Kyle confesses that’s true – sometimes at the worst possible moment.
On the Crimson Lights patio, Summer charges over to Theo’s table and blasts him over his latest move. She’s appalled over Theo doing this while the Abbotts are grieving.
Theo says he’s grieving as well, but Summer doesn’t buy it due to this lawsuit. “How does wanting my fair share make me the bad guy?” Theo asks. Summer gripes since what Theo actually wants the whole pie.
Once Summer sits down with Theo, she warns that his battle isn’t worth it. Summer mentions old trust fund drama for the Newman family and leaves Theo stunned over some of the details.
“Wait, sweet little Abby sued her father over money he was already giving her!” Theo exclaims. He thinks Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) has some nerve acting like he’s the scum of the earth.
Theo’s further emboldened to learn they beat the “big, bad Victor Newman” in court. He feels confident he’s going to win in court. “If this is supposed to be a cautionary tale, it’s backfiring spectacularly,” Theo says. He ends up thanking Summer for the confidence boost.
At Society, Amanda tells Billy there’s no proof that he was framed. She rattles off all the evidence that the jury will hear and insists she’s just presenting Billy with a set of options.
It’s what any competent attorney would do. Billy says there’s one more option – and that’s finding a different competent lawyer.
“You’re fired,” Billy snaps. “What?!” Amanda says in shock. Billy says it’s his life and his decision. He doesn’t need time to think about it and dismisses Amanda, who leaves in a huff.
Back with Sally, she pitches herself for Summer’s old head of marketing position at Jabot. Kyle says that position has been filled as Mariah arrives and gets an introduction from Kyle.
Sally recognizes Mariah from GC Buzz and wonders if she ever misses it. Mariah was ready to move on to bigger and better things, so Sally says Jabot was lucky to get Mariah while they had the chance.
Once Sally’s in the corridor, she doesn’t look happy about losing another chance to move on up. Meanwhile, Jack catches up with Lauren, who is fine with Sally being ambitious as long as she doesn’t step over someone to get what she wants.
After Chelsea’s appointment, she’s less stressed as she talks to Adam about how they’ll have to wait until after the holidays to treat the aneurysm. Adam talks about enjoying Christmas with Connor before leaving Genoa City for good.
Chelsea wonders if Adam’s sure he’ll really be able to walk away, but Adam’s adamant about getting away from GC once they can.
Lily meets up with Billy, who’s still riled after his confrontation with Amanda. Once Billy rants, Lily does her best to calm him down. As for Michael, he bumps into Jack at the coffeehouse in Thursday’s Young and the Restless episode.
Jack makes it clear that he thinks Michael should drop the charges, but Michael later tells Lauren that he has to follow the facts – wherever they may lead.
Back with Billy, he feels like Lily is the only one who has faith in him. Billy has a contact from the GCPD who knows where the secret witness is staying. He points out that if someone saw him at the crime scene, that person might’ve seen something else, too.
“Something that can lead us to whoever’s setting you up,” Lily says as she gets the picture. She’s down for helping Billy get answers.
