The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Thursday, October 1 – Victor Demands Billy’s Arrest – Adam’s Death Threat

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Thursday, October 1, teases that some tense moments are on the way. At Chancellor Communications, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) confirms to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that he published the story on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). It’s going to put them on the map!

Lily’s incensed that Billy would do this without giving her a heads-up and worries about legal consequences, but Billy insists she shouldn’t be paranoid about that. Lily rants about Billy ignoring Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) advice and going rogue.

Billy wants Lily to relax, but she can’t do that when they could lose everything.

Billy argues that they had to strike Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) first and feels Lily will soon thank him for publishing it. Lily tells Billy not to bet on it.

At the ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) reads the story on her phone and calls Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). “I hope you’re proud of yourself,” Nikki hisses before hanging up.

Victoria reads the story in her office while Victor comes into the ranch living room with Nikki. When Victor asks how bad it is, Nikki admits it’s worse than they ever could’ve imagined.

Meanwhile, Adam and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) reel over the story at their penthouse. Adam rants about how there’s no context or extenuating circumstances. There’s just one monstrous deed after another.

Chelsea is so sorry, but Adam insists they’ll be updating the story soon. “Because I am going to kill Billy Abbott,” Adam says. In Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) suite, she’s mulling over the story with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Nick doesn’t care about Adam, but this makes Victor look just as bad – and Nick bets Vic isn’t the only one who’s collateral damage.

Suddenly, Nick notices something shocking in the story and needs to get to Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) fast. Phyllis keeps reading and insists Billy’s gone too far.

Back at Chance Comm, Billy and Lily argue about whether or not he should’ve published the story. “I can’t even be around you right now,” Lily says in disgust and storms out.

At the ranch again, Nikki and Victor are pacing around on the phone – trying to do damage control. Once they both disconnect, Nikki warns Victor about his stress level. Victor promises he’s fine, but he rages over Billy and can’t forget Victoria’s involved, too.

The spin of the article makes Adam seem like a murderer and Victor like the father who covered it up. Victor wonders if he was supposed to do nothing. That was his boy!

Nikki understands this is upsetting, but she wants Victor to let his lawyers take care of it. Nikki also pushes for a walk to relax and come up with a logical plan. Everything doesn’t have to be a battle.

Victor gets on another angry phone call while Faith looks unsettled at Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) place. Faith gazes at her phone and seems to be sniffling, but she tries to hide it when Sharon appears.

Nick arrives as well so they can talk to Faith about what’s online. Faith plays dumb about the story, but Nick and Sharon push to discuss the part that involves Faith.

Adam kidnapped Faith when she was a baby, so they tackle the topic on Thursday’s Young and the Restless episode. Faith knew the overall story, but she never knew the details – like about Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and about that poor dead baby that Sharon thought was Faith.

Sharon insists they’ll never forgive Billy for this, and Nick notes that Faith’s name wasn’t used. Even so, Faith knows there’s enough for everyone to figure out it was her.

It scares Faith that she could’ve had a completely different life because of Adam. Faith can’t understand how Sharon could ever be friends with Adam after what he did.

Once Faith’s alone, she gets a flood of bullying texts. “Hey, Switcheroo.” “Who’s your real mom?” “Be careful… Your uncle might snatch you again.”

At Chance Comm on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Amanda asks if Billy is crazy. What was Billy thinking? Was he thinking at all? Billy defends his decision to publish the article and argues it was time. “Time to what? Torpedo this division?” Amanda wonders.

Billy insists they have the best lawyer in the business, but Amanda’s upset about cleaning up the mess. “Maybe I should just quit. Leave you in the hole you dug for yourself,” Amanda suggests. She thinks perhaps that’s the only way Billy will realize the damage he’s done.

Amanda eventually concedes that she can hopefully tie Victor and Adam up in court long enough to sort this out. Amanda will stay on one condition: that Billy will stop feeding her all this bull. This is personal – and Amanda suggests that’s not something to be proud of.

Back at the penthouse, Chelsea’s on the phone yelling at someone to stop calling. Adam’s on his own phone call refusing to give a statement. Once they hang up, Adam insists his life has been reduced to “a perp walk through hell.”

Chelsea knows Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) will eventually see this, so she wants to talk to Adam about how they’ll handle it.

After a phone call to Connor’s boarding school, Chelsea confirms that Connor’s Internet access is restricted. That buys them some time. Adam assures Chelsea that he’s going to fight this and tear Billy apart.

Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) moseys into the ranch on official business. Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) has been on the phone with the authorities in Kansas – and they’re asking for the GCPD’s cooperation. Nikki steps out, so Rey grills Victor and insists they must do their due diligence. Victor contends that Rey needs to arrest Billy if he wants to do that!

Rey wants to discuss what happened in Kansas, but Victor argues the crime is alleged and he played no part in it. Rey also mentions that George the caretaker has disappeared.

Victor notes that George was old and ready to retire, but Rey suggests Victor had better hope the guy’s still breathing. The man who can back Victor’s claim has vanished.

Rey notes that Victor’s had ample opportunity to destroy evidence. He runs down the overall story, but Victor pushes Rey to talk to his lawyer and show himself out.

At Newman Enterprises, Nikki and Victoria clash over the fallout of the negative publicity. Victoria doesn’t think the police can charge Victor over went down decades ago, but Nikki isn’t so sure.

Nikki’s upset about all Victor has done for Victoria – and this is how Victoria has repaid him! Victoria thinks that’s quite a spin on things. Nikki says to forget about Adam’s crimes since the real crime was committed by Victoria.

She’s destroyed their family from within and given Adam what he’s always wanted. After Nikki stomps off, Victoria ignores Victor’s call and exits hastily.

Faith reconvenes with her parents and updates them on a last-minute study session she’s headed off to. Sharon and Nick want to talk more, but Faith can’t get out the door fast enough.

On the porch, Faith gets another bullying text. “Bet your mom wants to switch you back,” says some mean chick named Emily. How rude!

In Phyllis’ suite, she takes a call from Rick and talks about having some cash flow issues. Phyllis wants to address the taxes that’ll be due at the beginning of the year, but she’s informed that they’re due this quarter. “No! No! This is a huge problem!” Phyllis insists.

To be blunt, Phyllis can’t make the payment since she’s flat-out broke. Paying Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) cleaned Phyllis out.

Victoria meets with Billy in the park and would’ve liked the opportunity to read the story before it was published. After Victoria’s tirade, Billy asks if this is buyer’s remorse. Victoria contends that this is more than she bargained for – a lot more!

Billy argues that he was upfront about what this would look like, but Victoria feels Victor comes off just as badly. Billy wants Victoria to take all that negative energy and direct it at Victor.

Still, reading all that made Victoria’s stomach drop. “What have I done to my family – and how much worse is it gonna get from here?” Victoria wonders.

Amanda fills Lily in on Chance Comm getting served as expected. There’s a push to make them retract the story, but Amanda wants to put all that on hold and discuss the Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) twin news.

Lily knows Amanda must have plenty of questions, but they agree it’s probably not the right time.

After swinging to business once more, Amanda admits that just when she thinks she’s got Billy figured out, he does something completely expected. Amanda admits it keeps things interesting and perhaps isn’t entirely a bad thing. Lily sometimes wishes she could jump inside that “insane head” of Billy’s.

Back with Chelsea, she fails to stop Adam from heading out to confront Billy. Nick returns to Phyllis and confesses that Faith is more upset than she’s letting on.

It’s a horrible thing to get hit with, especially the night before Sharon’s surgery. Nick warns that Adam may now feel like he has nothing to lose.

When Victoria returns to her office, she jumps when she sees Victor in the CEO chair. Since Victoria won’t take his calls, Victor’s there to say what he has to say in person.

At Chance Comm again, Lily wraps up a call and tells Billy that the metrics came back for the story – they’re off the charts. People can’t get enough of this story. “Damn,” Billy says as he looks at the numbers himself.

Lily admits that the advertisers who were threatening to pull out now see what a great deal they got. Billy offers to skip the part where he says, “I told you so.” Lily’s still worried about Adam and Victor, but she thinks Billy’s risk does seem to have paid off this time.

However, Lily warns she doesn’t want to be blindsided again.

Once Lily leaves, Adam comes marching in and finds a grinning Billy. Adam notes that Billy looks happy. “Well, let me change that for ya!” Adam snarls. Billy glares back, but he doesn’t look impressed or concerned.
