The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, August 25, teases that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will help Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) pull off her latest goal. At the New Hope Clinic, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) is puzzled by the email invite Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) alludes to. However, Elena decides she’s in once she opens it.
At Society, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) assures Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) latest business decisions were the right ones. On Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode, Abby thinks Victoria’s made a bold statement about being in charge.
Nikki insists that’s true, but things became more complicated after Victoria offered her the COO position. “That’s great…and super awkward,” Abby admits with a laugh. However, Abby congratulates Nikki and steps away to take a call.
That leaves Nikki to chat with Nick, who urges his mom to answer an email she’s just received. Nikki suggests she’ll send her regrets since this involves Phyllis, but Nick argues that mean missing out on “something big.”
“One night of fantasy and indulgence designed especially for you,” Nikki reads aloud. She has her doubts that Phyllis is in tune with her desires. Once Nick leaves and Abby rejoins Nikki, they discuss the bizarre email they both received. Abby realizes Nikki’s considering it as a favor to Nick, but Abby has no interest in finding out what this perfect escape idea is.
At Chancellor Communications, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) doesn’t want to pressure Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), but she does think Traci would be the perfect person to run their online fiction division. Traci needs a little more time to mull it over.
Nick shows up to give the personal touch on the email in both their inboxes. He gives a pitch that impresses Traci and Lily before texting Phyllis about his “mission accomplished.” Phyllis is glad that everything is coming together.
Soon after on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Nikki joins Summer Newman (Hunter King) at The Grand Phoenix. They’re both in the dark on Phyllis’ plans, but Nikki can tell that Summer’s stressing over her phone and Jabot’s acquisition of Newman’s cosmetic division. Summer accepts that she could really use this escape night.
Traci arrives with Lily soon after – and they’ve got high expectations. Elena walks in just before they’re texted what drinks they’re about to receive. Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) shows up next along with Abby, who assures Amanda that she isn’t crashing. Abby contends that knowing Phyllis, she’s got an escape room in mind for her with no way out.
Phyllis appears next and acknowledges that they all probably have a ton of questions – none of which she will answer. That’d ruin the surprise! Phyllis does admit that she’s crafted an evening for each of her guests that’s designed to satisfy their personal desires. She’s counting on this to be a night to remember.
Afterward, Abby grills Phyllis about a riddle on her phone and ponders the meaning of “the eyes have it.” Phyllis sends Abby to room 407 and tells her to just go with it. “Don’t forget to have fun,” Phyllis insists. Once Abby’s alone, she calls Lawrence about the updates to the surveillance system to make sure all is well.
In a suite, Lily and Traci gush over the tea tray that’s been prepared for them. Traci reflects on taking Colleen Carlton (Tammin Sursok) for high tea in New York when she was little. Lily remembers Colleen telling her stories about it. She’d also like to think Colleen’s there with them in some way.
Meanwhile, Amanda’s feeling refreshed after a dip in the whirlpool and a pedicure. She’s in a robe along with Elena, who agrees this is a luxurious experience.
Elena admits she’s never had a pedicure, which leads to a conversation about her ugly toes – though Amanda insists they’re cute. Amanda brags about her own beautiful feet, so Elena pretends to be jealous and calls her a “bitch.”
The ladies share some laughs as they savor this girls’ night. Amanda talks about how her world got really small when she was with Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes). She pushed all the important people out of her life. Amanda can’t believe Ripley convinced her to do that, but Elena doesn’t think Amanda deserves blame.
Amanda and Elena reflect on how much both of their lives have changed for the better. Soon after, there’s a knock on the door. It’s time for their massages, so Amanda and Elena are tickled pink.
Down in the lobby, Abby’s still lurking and looking suspicious. She calls Bryan and insists he’s the only person on the security team that she can trust. Abby wants to know where the new security cameras were installed. She learns they’re on the fourth floor – right outside room 407.
In Nikki’s suite, she opens the door and looks absolutely stunned by what’s in front of her. Nikki approaches a piano with beautiful flower arrangements on it. She smiles over the “Sonata for Nikki” sheet music, puts her glasses on and sits down to play it.
Over with Summer, she’s giggling over the dance video game she’s playing in her own room. Back with Abby, she finds the security cameras and gets confirmation that Bryan will come disable them. Abby determines that Phyllis is obviously trying to catch her doing something so she can blackmail her.
Once Abby hangs up, she reflects on the riddle that included something about temptation and the eyes seeing it. Abby spots Champagne on the cart nearby. She wonders if Phyllis really thinks she’s going to get “loaded on bubbles” and forget that Phyllis is trying to manipulate her.
Abby digs around her suite until she finds a hidden camera and tosses it out in the hallway. “Now that was satisfying,” Abby says. “You are messing with the wroooooooong woman, Phyllis.” Abby looks pleased with herself as she gets ready to crack open her Champagne bottle.
Another text comes from Phyllis eventually, which notes that adventure is in Abby’s blood. Phyllis pays Abby a visit later, so Abby admits she knows the cameras were planted for her to find. As long as Abby had fun, Phyllis thinks that’s all that matters.
Back with Lily, she can’t help but wonder what Colleen would think of her now. Traci thinks Colleen would be so proud. Talk turns to what it’s like for Lily to work with Billy. Lily feels like they’re had a breakthrough. They’re embracing the fact that their differences are what make them a good team – if Lily doesn’t kill Billy first!
Traci thinks a lot of things are coming into perspective tonight. She wasn’t sure this Chance Comm job would be a good fit, but she likes the idea of working with people she loves. Traci decides to accept the offer to head up Chancellor’s online fiction platform, so Lily’s excited.
Lily and Traci circle back to Colleen and how they’ve bonded since she passed away. Traci has been a mother figure to Lily – and she intends to shower the twins with affection, too. Lily and Traci share a touching moment as they remind each other of their love.
After Elena and Amanda’s massage, they talk about Billy being the opposite of Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Elena mentions Nate being “gorgeous” in her description of him, which surprises Amanda.
“What? You haven’t noticed?” Elena asks. “I’ve noticed,” Amanda confesses with a laugh. Elena knows they got off to a rough start in the beginning, but they’re both glad they’re friends now.
Nikki plays the piano as Phyllis checks in with Elena and Traci, who’ve had the perfect night. Summer’s next, so she assures Phyllis that her evening of junk food, binge-watching and video games was great. Phyllis eventually compliments Nikki on her piano playing and wonders if she’s in when it comes to this escape club.
Down in the lobby again, Phyllis tells Summer they just have to wait now. Summer contends that regardless of what happens from here, this was a brilliant idea. The sliding scale pricing is great, too. Phyllis hopes the rest of her guests are in agreement.
At Society, Lily enjoyed the escape night – though she doesn’t think she has to pay Phyllis to have tea with Traci. Nevertheless, Traci thinks the experience might be different every time. She thinks they have to give Phyllis points for creativity.
Over with Elena and Amanda, they agree the escape club is pricey. Even so, Amanda loves the fact that the club’s just for women. The camaraderie of it is appealing. After Abby joins Amanda and Elena, they’re all on the same page about being “worth it.”
At The Grand Phoenix again, Summer warns Phyllis that she might not hear back from her potential escape club members right away. Fortunately, it doesn’t take long at all for all of them to text back that they’re in – including Abby.
Phyllis is overjoyed by the news of success, and Summer celebrates along with her. “Welcome to escape club,” Phyllis declares.
