The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Tuesday, December 29 – Nick’s Wild Bachelor Party Prank – Sally Throws Theo Under the Bus

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, December 29, reveals that when Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) drops by the cottage, he’s on a mission. After chatting about how much Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) enjoyed Christmas, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) brings up the messy wedding planning. That prompts Nick to say he came by with something to say to Sharon.

After Sharon asks if Nick’s changed his mind about being Rey’s best man, Nick says “no way.” He thought it’d be awkward, but it really isn’t anymore. Nick couldn’t be more excited for Rey and Sharon. Not that they need Nick’s approval or anything, but that’s basically what he’s giving Sharon here.

Nick praises “Shey’s” relationship before the topic of Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) arises. Sharon insists she’s set boundaries and that’s all behind them now. Nick suggests it was difficult watching Sharon help someone who doesn’t deserve it.

Nevertheless, Nick knows Sharon has been through so much with her chemo and cancer fight. Sharon was incredibly brave and is worthy of all the happiness coming her way according to Nick.

At Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) tells Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) she needs her help with a “life or death” situation. Faith chuckles over the “emergency” being Mariah’s uncertainty over which earrings to wear in the wedding photos.

Once that crisis is averted, Jordan (Madison Thompson) comes through the door and walks by without so much as looking up at Faith. Mariah picks up on Faith’s unsettled reaction. “Is that someone you know?” Mariah wonders as Jordan sits down on the patio.

Faith tells Mariah it’s Jordan, and Mariah recognizes the name as one that Faith’s mentioned. Faith excuses herself to go say hi, but her attempts to chat with Jordan are repeatedly shot down. Jordan totally ices Faith out, even when the topic of Sharon and Rey’s New Year’s Eve wedding comes up.

After Jordan suggests she might have other plans, she notes that it was “pretty lame” the last time they were at Society anyway. Faith’s sorry about not stealing the vodka, but she just didn’t feel comfortable doing it at her aunt’s restaurant. Jordan seems irritated as she says she gets why Faith was scared.

Moments later, Mariah appears and introduces herself as Faith’s sister. She invites the girls into the main dining area for some brownies – Mariah’s treat.

Faith tries to make Mariah seem cool by working it into the conversation that Mariah’s girlfriend is Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) the singer. Jordan doesn’t seem impressed.

Mariah mentions how she went on tour with Tessa and partied, so it was almost like being in high school again. Jordan corrects Mariah that being in high school now is different – there’s a lot more pressure, especially from social media. “Right, I forgot the stone tablets that we used to chisel on,” Mariah says.

Jordan excuses herself to go “study,” so Faith snaps at Mariah about the partying comment once they’re alone. Mariah claims she was just making conversation and wonders if Faith really cares that much what Jordan thinks. Faith denies it, but she clearly cares a great deal.

In the Jabot boardroom on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) catches up with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Lauren mentions all the adjustments Sally’s made in her life lately. “It’s been a bit of a blur,” Sally admits. “And I miss my sister. It didn’t really feel like Christmas without family.”

However, Sally does appreciate the fact that Fenmore’s and Jabot are family-run companies. That’s the vibe Sally’s comfortable with since she’s used to working at Forrester Creations and Spectra Fashions.

Sally also credits Lauren and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) with helping her feel like she belongs – and Jack eavesdrops on that part nearby.

Sally talks about her parents being nomads who didn’t like to stay in one place too long. They were irresponsible, so they eventually just dropped Sally and Coco Spectra (Courtney Grosbeck) off with her grandmother.

Sally feels they were better off in the long run. She’s just trying to say she appreciates Lauren and Sally giving her a place to call home. Jack listens sympathetically until he finally knocks on the door and enters.

They all discuss business before Lauren asks Sally to get in touch with Summer Newman (Hunter King) about something.

Sally acts awkward about it, which leads to an admission about someone starting a rumor that she was out to undermine Summer. Sally insists that’s not the case and that she’ll work it out. Jack wonders who started the rumor, but Sally promises he’s not an issue anymore. Lauren asks if it was Theo by any chance.

Sally suggests maybe it was payback since she wouldn’t help Theo. Jack will talk to Summer since it’s unfair for Sally to be dealing with all this Abbott family drama. Sally would be so grateful for that. “Consider it done,” Jack insists.

At the Chancellor mansion, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) tells Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) that he needs to take his time and fully recover before returning to work. Chance is feeling great, but he agrees that’s what Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) would want.

Talk turns to Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) trial, which probably won’t happen for a while. It’s an airtight case though – premeditated attempted murder. Rey can’t help but feel a bit sorry for “the girl” since she’s not the first person Adam’s pushed over the edge.

After Rey apologizes for overstepping due to Adam and Chance’s friendship, Chance insists it’s OK. “The guy I was friends with in Vegas…he doesn’t exist anymore,” Chance declares on Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode. “Adam is toxic and we all know it. Any loyalty I had toward that man is long gone.”

In the Grand Phoenix lobby, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) tells Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) a funny story about a patient. They talk about working on Christmas, but Nate doesn’t want Elena to get in the habit of giving up all her vacation type and getting burned out.

Nate also talks about learning to focus on what he can do as a doctor rather than what he can’t. Elena mentions how much she’s missed Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) while she’s been in Miami.

After living with so many other people, Elena feels she should probably live alone next and learn to be independent – but not now. At the moment, Elena has to lean on her friends and figure out how to start over.

At Chancellor Communications, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) gets flowers and a warm welcome home from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Billy missed Lily like crazy and wants to take her out to dinner.

Lily has a lot of work to do, but Billy says this can be a working dinner – especially since he has an idea to run by her.

At Society, Billy feels like they have to deal with the fact that their reporter on the Adam story turned out to be a “homicidal cad.” He suggests a better balance on what they cover – more than the dark side of humanity. He wants to tell the story of the people who fought for justice and made sure it prevailed.

Lily timidly says that sounds interesting, so Billy elaborates that he wants to focus on heroes instead of villains – Lily for one. “No…sorry, that’s not happening,” Lily insists. Billy argues that he’s a free man because of Lily, but she says her snooping was far from heroic.

Lily praises Chance for taking a bullet – and Abby hears her husband’s name as she walks in. She thinks the story is a great idea.

Abby offers an exclusive interview and pics, so she texts a few to Lily. They discuss the wedding and Abby’s pregnancy plan, which is taking longer than she’d like.

Abby worries she’s been insensitive. “What? Because I had cancer and couldn’t carry the twins?” Lily asks. She insists it’s fine. The important thing is Lily has her kids. Lily knows Abby’s going to be an amazing mom.

Back at Sharon’s place, she gives Nick the news that Faith wants to stay in town and finish out the semester in Genoa City. Faith isn’t going back to boarding school, which pleases Nick since they can keep a closer eye on their daughter.

Sharon mentions that Faith’s drinking has been a minor thing so far, but she’s worried since there could be hereditary alcohol issues. Nick plans to monitor Faith closely while Sharon’s on her honeymoon.

Talk turns to Lola, so Sharon and Nick think it’s good that Faith has a positive role model that’s closer to her age.

Faith comes home and quickly makes her way upstairs. Rey comes in soon after, so Nick pretends there’s a wild bachelor party planned – complete with dancers from a place that’s “classy as far as strip bars go.” Sharon laughs at Rey for believing Nick, who excuses himself to enjoy chocolate milk with Christian instead.

Rey notes that Sharon’s running out of time to change her mind on marrying him. Sharon promises there’s no chance of that happening. Back with Elena, she agrees to join Nate in a suite for room service. Later, Elena admits she thought she was ready when she went up – but she’s not.

Nate’s patient and understands, but he thinks Elena may be punishing herself. Elena feels like things are perhaps tainted due to how they started out. She also fears this relationship may never be what Nate wants it to be.

Later, Nate seems somber alone in his suite. He texts Elena and asks her to let him know she made it home OK. Elena texts back that she’s fine. She’s sorry about tonight and says they’ll talk soon.

After Chance shows up at Society, he’s uncomfortable with his name being linked to Adam now that he’s back on the force. Billy insists the story isn’t just about Chance – it’s about all the good people who came together to make sure the truth prevailed. Chance can approve the story first and make edits, so it’s OK with it.

Chance returns home with Abby, who brings out hot cocoa with whipped cream instead of wine. High fat dairy has been shown to increase fertility while alcohol can have the opposite effect. Chance really isn’t worried. Abby’s gotten pregnant before, so there’s no reason to think she can’t do it again.

Back with Lily, she wonders if Billy wanted to have more kids. Billy and Lily are satisfied with the kids they have now, so they’re on the same page about just enjoying the next chapter of their life. Lily happily accepts Billy’s invitation to join him for a nightcap in his suite.

At Sharon’s house, Faith sneaks vodka from the bottle into a portable tumbler and texts Jordan about hoping she sees her tomorrow. Faith hints at a surprise in her message and sighs.

Later, Sharon and Rey return after a stroll under the stars. Rey wonders when Sharon knew they should be together forever, so she guesses it was probably when they got stranded at that motel together.

Rey says he wanted Sharon “so bad” that night – and Sharon confesses the feeling was mutual. It’s been a long road to get here, but it’s been worth it. Sharon beckons Rey upstairs to the bedroom, so he eagerly joins her.
