The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Tuesday September 29 – Theo Pushes Lola to Win Kyle Back – Nick Sucked In Newman Dumpster Fire

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, September 29, teases that some tense moments are coming up in Genoa City. At Crimson Lights, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) clashes with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) over their history before they discuss what he’s plotting.

Phyllis can see it in Billy’s eyes, so he confesses that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is his target – and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will be collateral damage.

Billy’s surprised when Phyllis pushes him to kill the story since her hatred for Victor is well-known. However, Phyllis is in a better place these days. Billy feels confident Phyllis will find a way to ruin things with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) – just like she did with Billy and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

After Billy asks how long Phyllis thinks her relationship with Nick will last, Phyllis takes that as her cue to leave.

At the park, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) expresses concern to Nick about Adam and how he might plan to hurt Victor. After Nick wonders how he can help, Nikki pushes for him to take his true place in the family and side with them without question.

Unfortunately, Nick’s not very enthusiastic. It leads to Nikki suggesting Nick shouldn’t offer to help if he doesn’t mean it.

At the ranch, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has a folder containing info on Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico). Victor has summoned Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) for a conversation since he’s been having Alyssa followed and claims to know who’s working with her.

After Victor mentions his PI spotting Victoria at the Chancellor Communications offices, Victoria fibs that she was there to discuss the kids. She launches into a speech about how Adam is a threat and has always been a threat, but she feels confident Victor will rescue her brother before he does anything deadly or dangerous.

Victor talks about how he made a decision to save his boy all those years ago. He feels like any parent could understand that. Victoria grumbles about the fallout, but Victor’s worried about Billy’s ammunition and hopes Victoria will look into what Billy intends to publish.

Victor wants Victoria to put the Newmans first and spy on her ex. “For you, for me…for our whole family,” Victor insists.

Next on Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode, it’s Nick’s turn to visit the ranch. Victor fills Nick in on his earlier discussion with Victoria and warns that the situation’s rather dire.

Victor worries about the risk to Newman Enterprises, but Nick notes that it’s not very persuasive for Victor to lead with his doom-and-gloom predictions about the company.

Nevertheless, Nick’s protective of Nikki and Christian Newman (Alex Wilson). He doesn’t want them caught in the crossfire and is willing to help Victor for his family’s sake. Later, Victor updates Nikki on both Victoria and Nick’s visits. They fret over the possibility that Victoria may know more than she’s letting on.

Nikki mentions the phone call she eavesdropped on between Billy and Victoria as well as her attempt to pry info out of Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). Victor suspects Victoria’s joined forces with Billy and isn’t happy about that.

Nick finds Phyllis in her hotel suite, where they discuss Billy’s goal of publishing explosive about Adam. Phyllis warns Nick not to get sucked into this. “Honestly, please keep away from this dumpster fire,” Phyllis insists. Nick protests that it’s his family – and if Adam actually ends up paying for some of the things he’s done, that’s fine by Nick.

Victoria catches up with Billy at the coffeehouse and fills him in on Victor having Alyssa followed. After Victoria suggests Victor’s trying to stop Billy and figure out if they’re in cahoots, Billy doesn’t share her concerns since it’s too late for Victor to do anything about the story.

Victoria asks how bad the blowback will be on Victor and the rest of her family. Since Billy thought she didn’t care, Victoria insists she doesn’t – though the look on her face afterward suggests otherwise.

After Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) gets an email about his divorce being final, Summer Newman (Hunter King) is ready for a celebration. She doesn’t get why Kyle isn’t more excited about this. Kyle confesses to worrying about Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and how she’ll take the news.

Once Kyle points out that Lola’s innocent in so many ways and shouldn’t have a divorce her under belt already, Summer allows him 20 more seconds to wallow in guilt.

Any more and Kyle’s fiancée might worry he was more concerned about his ex! Kyle debates with Summer, who guesses she’d rather have a man who cares – just not too much.

After Kyle assures Summer that he’s thrilled about their future together, he promises to meet up to celebrate later. Meanwhile, Lola’s looking glum over the divorce becoming official. She lashes out at Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), who arrives hoping to maintain their friendship.

Lola does need a friend, but she contends that it isn’t Theo! She rants about how Theo has a calculator where his heart should be. Lola feels like Theo’s always doing the math of who’s worth what and what they can do for him.

Theo gets that Lola’s upset about something and needing to vent, so Lola eventually admits her divorce was finalized. She doesn’t know how to feel or act, so she pushes Theo to just go. Soon after, Theo watches Kyle enter the kitchen to see Lola. Kyle wanted to check on Lola due to the divorce situation.

Although Lola initially brushes Kyle off, she ultimately admits to thinking this sucks. Kyle understands and feels the same way. Summer shows up and learns from Theo that Kyle’s in the kitchen, so she peeks in and seems irritated over the sight of Kyle with Lola.

Next, Summer rips into Theo for his troll move and how people run when they see what Theo’s really like. She argues that this is why Theo’s alone. Summer would pity Theo, but he’s honestly just not worth the time.

Later, Theo corners Lola alone in the kitchen. He feels like “Kola” pulled trigger on the divorce too quickly and argues that Lola could win Kyle back. It wouldn’t take that much effort to get Kyle away from Summer. Theo argues that they both know Lola still wants Kyle.

Lola flies off the handle over Theo twisting things around and making disgusting suggestions. “I mean, what is wrong with you?” Lola asks on Tuesday’s Y&R episode. Theo tries to offer a defense, but Lola tells him to just go and stay gone.

In the park, Summer calls Kyle out for trying to meet with Lola on the sly. Kyle admits he should’ve been honest about his “offsite meeting,” but he loves Summer with all his heart and insists she makes him want to be a better human. Summer doesn’t want anything to come along and send their relationship off track, but Kyle promises that won’t happen.

“You have my word, OK?” Kyle vows. “Nothing is going to keep us from having the life we deserve.” Kyle adds that this wedding is going to happen, so everyone can either get on board or get out of their way!
