The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Wednesday, September 30 – Monstrous Adam Story Unleashed – Dina’s Teardrop of Love

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for update for Wednesday, September 30, teases that some shockers are coming up. At the penthouse, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) listen through the bug planted at Chancellor Communications.

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) gets excited over hitting the jackpot and talks to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) story.

After Billy points to “Adam Newman: The Making of a Monster” as what he’s so happy about, Adam and Chelsea look terrified about what’s set to be unleashed. Soon after, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) receives a text from Billy about the story being ready.

Lily frets about publishing unsubstantiated claims, but Billy feels like she’s being too cautious. The best thing they can do is call their lawyer, so Billy puts Amanda on speakerphone. Amanda admits to reading the story, but she’s against running it since it sounds personal.

Billy contends that Amanda knows how dangerous secrets can be and brings up her connection to Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan). “I know it’s been difficult, but aren’t you glad that you know the truth now?” Billy asks.

When Lily wonders what Billy’s talking about, Amanda says it turns out she’s Hilary’s twin sister. Lily’s jaw drops as she processes the news.

It takes Lily a minute to get back on track since she’s so thrown, but she eventually composes herself. Amanda insists she needs more time to look into the legalities of publishing this story, but Billy insists not too much time.

Back with Adam and Chelsea, they reel over everything they’ve heard. Adam’s focus is on Billy and whether this story will be unleashed, so he thinks it might be time to call in the cavalry.

At the ranch, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) talks to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) about Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) working with “Billy Boy.” Nick notes that he was willing to protect his family from Adam – but not Adam from the things he’s done.

Nick’s worried about the criminal prosecution and lawsuits that could result from Victor covering for Adam.

A call comes in from Adam himself, so Victor takes it. Adam notes that Billy’s about to drop a bomb on them. He pushes Victor to stop Billy before they both land in prison. “OK, I’ll try,” Victor promises.

He disconnects and fills in Nick, who doesn’t see what Victor can do if the story’s ready to go. Victor guesses he’ll have to deal with it on his own and vows that Billy won’t get away with this.

As for Adam, he’s done with phase one and moving on to phase two. Chelsea gives Billy a call and thinks it’s stooping awfully low to publish something that would hurt Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Billy thinks it’s just as low for Chelsea to use her son as a shield.

Billy winds up finding the bug and encourages Chelsea to keep Connor away from Adam if she wants to protect him. After Billy destroys the bug, Chelsea notes that the signal’s been lost.

Billy meets up with Amanda, who confides to him about the profound sense of loss she feels when it comes to Hilary. Amanda also reflects on her struggles of feeling like she had to be perfect to avoid being perfect in foster care. She has difficulty wrapping her head around Rose giving up one baby and questions whether Rose was really their biological mother.

Billy and Amanda eventually talk business again, which leads to Amanda questioning if he’s willing to risk Chancellor Communications over his Newman vendetta. Over with Adam and Chance, they come together to discuss the story – which might include Vegas.

Adam isn’t pleased since Chance is unwilling to use his resources against Billy. However, if Adam had to do it all over again, he wouldn’t change a thing. Later, Adam reconvenes with Chelsea and they accept the possibility that they may not be able to stop this.

“What else can we do though, short of kidnapping Billy and Lily?” Adam asks. “You grab the rope; I’ll grab the chloroform,” Chelsea says. Adam gives a sly smile in response, seemingly knowing it’s a joke.

Following a trip to New York, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) has updates for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that include a black-market scheme, an Italian princess and a jewelry heist. At Crimson Lights, Jack’s surprised as Traci launches a story about Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) mysterious emerald necklace.

Traci brings Jack up to speed on the story of an Italian princess who wore the emerald necklace, which was given to her by her true love and then stolen. The necklace was missing for centuries and ended up on the black market.

After the necklace was sold to a reclusive millionaire’s son in Chicago, he gave it to his girlfriend before he was shipped off to war. Jack wonders if Dina was that girlfriend, but the math doesn’t add up. Since Dina wasn’t old enough to be this guy’s girlfriend, Traci doesn’t know how their mother acquired the necklace.

Jack and Traci think maybe John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) offered the necklace as a gift, but there are questions about why Dina didn’t wear it again and why Dina wanted them to see the home movie.

The name of the necklace is “The Teardrop of Love,” so that’s another interesting tidbit for Traci and Jack to contemplate.

Next on Wednesday’s Young and the Restless episode, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) confesses to Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) that she’s nervous about the article and the possibility of Chance’s name coming up in it.

Talk turns to a potential criminal investigation into Chance along with Chance’s fear that he scared Abby with all his kid talk recently.

Chance feels confident that they can find a way forward and acknowledges how his priorities are changing because of Abby. He brings up the idea that maybe Abby doesn’t want kids, but Abby argues that she wanted them too much.

Abby fills Chance in on her miscarriage that happened five years ago. She shares how it almost broke her and mentions being married to a military vet like Chance.

Although Chance doesn’t want to pry, he asks if the lost baby is why the marriage didn’t work out. Abby admits that was a big part of it as she gets choked up.

Later, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) can tell Abby’s got something on her mind and is willing to listen. Mariah’s not really use how to define whether Abby’s a friend to her or what, but she’s not big on labels anyway.

She pushes Abby to lay it on her, so Abby brings Mariah up to speed on her difficult conversation with Chance.

Abby’s now wondering if she’s ready to be a mom and doesn’t know if she’d be a good one. Mariah doesn’t think Abby should get stuck on all the what ifs. Abby lights up talking about how happy the thought of building a life with Chance would make her, so Mariah suggests she shouldn’t let anything hold her back.

Abby eventually lets Chance know that she loves babies and can offer him a “maybe someday,” which is more than enough for Chance. After Nick fills Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in on Victoria apparently working with Billy, Phyllis is impressed.

She also realizes Nick’s happy that Adam’s crimes are going to be publicly exposed.

At Chance Comm, Victor warns Billy that he’s the one who’ll suffer due to this smear job. Billy’s suffering will be long and agonizing according to Victor. “Can I quote you on that?” Billy asks.

Victor talks about protecting his children and how Billy is a failure in that department. He also feels like overconfidence and hubris are two of Billy’s major flaws.

After Billy orders Victor out, Victor makes him a promise. “You’re gonna rue this day for the rest of your life, Billy Boy,” Victor insists on Wednesday’s Y&R episode.

Once Victor exits, Billy uploads the story and leaves “Chadam” shocked at home. Lily comes in and demands to know what Billy just did.
