The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Newman Enterprises may run into some trouble down the road. Before COVID-19 aka the coronavirus forced a hiatus, Y&R spoilers pointed to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) putting the company in jeopardy. That hasn’t really played out yet, so it must still be to come.
Of course, we’d say Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and even Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) deserve some blame here. How can anyone trust in the leadership at Newman Enterprises? Let’s consider what what’s been plastered all over the news in recent months.
Victoria was filling in as CEO until Victor blindsided her by publicly announcing his return. After Victoria played hardball, Victor retired and put his daughter back on the throne – forcing another announcement.
Flash-forward to Victoria getting stabbed, which led to Victor naming Nick as interim CEO. Then, Victoria briefly reclaimed the spot. Adam blackmailed his way into the CEO chair soon after, which led to major publicity. Now Adam’s been fired and Victoria’s back in – that’s yet another CEO shocker for the media.
Newman Enterprises must be the joke of the fictional business world right now. How can anyone think this game of musical CEO chairs is OK? If Victor can’t even decide which kid should be running Newman, how can anyone trust in the business that’s done there?
The company could take a serious hit, especially if Adam’s AJ Montalvo secret and blackmail scandal erupt.
Plus, The Young and the Restless may need to focus on things like business stories once production resumes. There could be restrictions on kissing and love scenes due to lingering COVID-19 concerns. An easy way to cope with those restrictions would be to reignite some rivalries and have some business showdowns.
Y&R fans have been loving the feud between Victor and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) in some of the classic episodes. Jack and Victor really are the greatest rivals in the show’s history. They’ve called a truce now and are borderline chummy with each other, which seems like a waste.
Since the show may be forced to do more business storylines anyway, they have the perfect opportunity for more Jack and Victor faceoffs. With Newman potentially in risky territory, that’s the ideal setup. Victor and Victoria could play dirty to gain the upper hand – targeting and hurting Jabot in the process.
Would you like to see Victor and Jack at war again? Should they go back to being fierce foes when Y&R returns? Due to COVID-19 precautions and the potential break from romance, Newman and Jabot may be doomed for another cutthroat battle.
