The Young and the Restless spoilers document that the lavish anniversary celebration, which recently honored the fiftieth anniversary of Newman Enterprises’ founding, now seems like it happened ages ago. Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) global conglomerate has seen four people, including the Moustache himself, head the company in the last handful of months. That’s a bad look in the business world.
Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) stood as one of Victor’s top corporate generals for years, as Y&R fans fondly recall. The character that the late St. John brilliantly played is exactly the type of person who’s needed to head this company.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Vickie Newman Remains In Jeopardy
Victor should not have caved to Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) demand that Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) be forced out of the Chief Executive Officer’s spot. That betrayal understandably damaged Vickie’s trust.
While Victor only allowed Adam to hold power for an amount of time that can be counted in hours, the CEO switch generated strong rip tide rip effects. The unpredictable environment Vickie is working in could again pull her under and with that further damage Newman.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Neil Winters Should Have Been CEO
Victor should have tapped Neil to take over in the late 2000’s, but didn’t. The longtime Newman Enterprises top executive realized that not being a member of the family would always limit his opportunity within the company.
Neil left Newman and accepted Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) offer to be Chancellor Industries CEO. Eventually, Neil founded the Hamilton-Winters Group with his son, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). He also founded the charitable Abbott-Winters Foundation with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
No one like Neil lives in Genoa City, Wisconsin, right now. So, Victor won’t be able to find anyone who would match his business backstory and related experience.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Candidates To Run Newman
Assuming that Vickie is forced out again, or simply can’t deal with her father’s erratic behavior and leaves, there are other people who could run the show.
Devon would be a strong candidate to head Newman, especially considering what he learned from Neil. But Devon’s philanthropic efforts likely preclude him from accepting any offer Victor might make.
Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) has a deep, varied resume and would be a good choice. Her husband, Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc), is another option. While he and Victor have battled through the years, Michael knows the company and possesses the type of demeanor that’s needed.
Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) has the acumen, but also has her hands full heading CI. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is a plausible option, but she and Victor detest each other.
Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) doesn’t have business experience, but has the type of life experience that makes him a potential option. Of course, he’d have to retire as Chief of Police to take this job.
Among other options, including any returning character, or new one who would be written in, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is an intriguing consideration. Yes, he’s co-heading Jabot with his father. But Victor and Kyle were close at one time and could be again.
