The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) could really use a new love interest. Y&R fans know Victoria shut the door on her romance with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), which was perfectly reasonable under the circumstances.
Billy knew how much Victoria had gone though when they first got back together. Victoria was still dealing with the trauma of J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) abuse and all the chaos that came after it. Her world was spinning out, but Billy stepped up to be Victoria’s rock.
Despite Victoria’s reservations, Billy just wouldn’t rest until she took him back. He was unbelievably pushy about their latest “Villy” reunion, but he ended up being the one to destroy it again. At some point, Victoria has to have some dignity and say enough is enough. That’s exactly what Victoria did when she told Billy they would be co-parents and nothing more.
Y&R could always have Victoria change her mind later, but she’s resolute right now. Victoria is done with Billy, who seems more interested in Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) anyway. There’s a spark between Billy and Lily as well, but it’d make more sense to go for Billy and Amanda first.
The Young and the Restless writers set up a friendship that could turn into a romance, so why stop with a kiss? They should let it play out and see where things might lead. Amanda and Billy have an intriguing spark that’s worth pursuing.
However, this would problem for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Nate’s crushing hard on Amanda and is really hoping this leads to lasting love. Unfortunately, Amanda doesn’t seem over the connection she formed with Billy. There’s an intensity anytime Amanda and Billy share scenes together. They always stare a little too long – like they’re staring deep into each other’s souls.
That’s the kind of thing that’ll be hard for Billy and Amanda to ignore, especially now that they’re working together. Will Amanda and Billy be unable to resist temptation? If Billy steals Amanda, Nate could commiserate with Victoria about the destruction Billy causes – sometimes even without really meaning to.
It’d be so easy to slide Nate right on over to Victoria and have them develop a spark of their own. Back when Brooks Darnell was playing the part, Nate expressed interest in Victoria. There was some chem testing going on, but it never worked out while Darnell was at the show.
Y&R has the opportunity to give this pairing another shot now that Sean Dominic’s in the role. Would Nate and Victoria be a hot match? Since Victoria doesn’t have a ton of options on canvas at the moment, it’s worth considering.
Billy already broke Victoria’s heart, and now it may be Amanda’s turn to break Nate’s. It’d be a no-brainer to push the brokenhearted together! Nate and Victoria could turn their sorrow into a new beginning. We’ll pass along updates as other Y&R news rolls in.
