The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Wednesday, February 19, tease that the Newman Enterprises gala will continue. Some explosive drama’s coming up by the end of the week, but Wednesday’s episode will serve as the calm before the storm.
Newman may be celebrating its 50th anniversary, but this event is mostly about paying tribute to Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) and his 40 years on The Young and the Restless. With that in mind, Wednesday’s show will pack in plenty of flashbacks, speeches and reconnections.
In a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest, Y&R Head Writer and Co-Executive Producer Josh Griffith opened up about what’s ahead. He also reflected on the delicate balancing act that comes with tribute shows and what they hoped to accomplish with this one.
“Producing a tribute for a legacy character is twofold, as you are celebrating and honoring both the show and the actor,” Griffith said. “We hope to find the right balance in celebrating Victor’s milestones, as well as remembering special moments/scenes that might not have been seen by the audience in quite a long time.
The Young and the Restless recently released a promo for this 40th anniversary tribute, which indeed include some significant Victor scenes from years past. There should be even more included in Wednesday’s actual tribute show, so this is definitely be worth tuning in for.
