The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview for the week of December 28-January 1 teases that we’ll see some complicated situations and tough emotions. Following a trip to see her birth mother, Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey), Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will be fuming back at Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse.
It’ll be hard for Amanda to process witnessing a close moment between Naya and her other daughter, Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose).
“It must’ve felt like hell seeing your birth mom hugging another grown daughter like that,” Devon says in Y&R’s weekly preview video. “Well, see, that’s only part of the story.
There’s more,” Amanda insists after folding her arms angrily. Amanda was hoping to get some answers, but those answers will leave her wondering if it’d been better to stay in the dark.
Meanwhile, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will push Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) buttons when she runs into him at Crimson Lights. Phyllis will talk about how they’re attracted to certain better halves that pull them out of the swamp.
That’s Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for Phyllis and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) for Adam – or is it Sharon Newman (Sharon Case)? Phyllis will needle Adam about how he’s waffled between Sharon and Chelsea, but it looks like she’ll successfully get under Adam’s skin.
Perhaps Phyllis will even argue that if Adam’s going to make his move, he’d better hurry up since Sharon’s about to marry Rey Rosales (Jordi VIlasuso). Meanwhile, Rey will look forward to the looming New Year’s Eve wedding. “You’re running out of time to change your mind,” Rey teases in Y&R’s weekly promo.
“I can’t wait to be your wife,” Sharon says – though she doesn’t sound all that convincing.
Later, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will find Sharon at Society. It looks like Sharon will wonder how Adam’s doing, so he’ll think that Sharon still “giving a damn” means a lot. As Adam and Sharon talk, Rey will show up looking suspicious and more than a little irritated.
Since Rey and Sharon’s nuptials are just around the corner, Rey will have to worry about the possibility that Adam will put the ceremony in jeopardy. As other Y&R news and updates come in, we’ll keep you posted.
