The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview for the week of July 20-24 teases that some fun classics are coming up. This week’s theme is “By Popular Demand,” so Y&R’s showing the encores that viewers have been asking for. There are five great blast-from-the-past episodes in store, so here’s what Young and the Restless fans can look forward to.
On Monday, Y&R will throw it all the way back to the show’s very first episode in 1973. Brad Elliot (Tom Hallick) arrives in Genoa City and brings a mystery along with him. Stuart Brooks (Robert Colbert) introduces himself in The Young and the Restless’ weekly preview video.
Next, viewers meet some other Brooks and Foster family members in the second Y&R episode ever. Back then, the show only aired for 30 minutes, so The Young and the Restless will double up to give fans a full hour on Monday.
Tuesday’s encore is definitely a famous one. When Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) got a real-life facelift in 1984, it was written into the show. Y&R’s weekly promo shows the results of Katherine’s facelift in a moment that made television history.
On Wednesday, Y&R will revisit a special celebration in 1993. Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and his new wife, Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell), have quite a bash with their friends and family. Many Young and the Restless fans will want to tune in for this newlywed love fest!
Thursday’s episode focuses on a popular guest star. Katy Perry takes center stage at Restless Style in this 2008 classic. “It’s your show! Let’s go for it,” Katy says in Y&R’s preview video. If you like celebrity guest appearances, you’ll want to check out this hot episode.
Finally, Friday’s set to deliver an unforgettable wedding. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) marries Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) in this 2015 encore, which features some heartfelt vows from the bride and groom. Neil also shows up at the nuptials to make amends and wish the happy couple well.
