The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview for the week of July 6-10 tease that the CBS soap will heat things up with a sizzling new theme. This time “Summer Fun” will take center stage in some great blast-from-the-past episodes. Here’s what Y&R fans can expect in these hot encores.
Summer parties are always exciting on The Young and the Restless, so viewers may want to rewatch this 1999 classic. The Newmans throw a big barbeque in Monday’s episode – and they have a fantastic reason to celebrate. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) have just won custody of Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes), so everyone comes together for a memorable bash.
The fun continues on Tuesday’s Y&R classic, which was first seen back in 2005. Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman) kicks off a pool party for the Abbotts and their friends. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman), Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) are all on hand for this shindig.
Sharon, Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) and Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) are also guests at Gloria’s pool party, so there’s a packed crowd! The Young and the Restless fans can expect Gloria to make quite a splash with her soiree.
Next, the Glow by Jabot website kicks off, so that calls for a celebration in Wednesday’s 2000 episode. There’s some hot summer chemistry going on as Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodland), Billy Abbott (David Tom), JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) and Maczenzie “Mac” Browning (Ashley Bashiom) enjoy themselves.
Meanwhile, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) pushes Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) buttons, which just goes to show not much has changed over the years! Phyllis remains a world-class button-pusher to this day.
On Thursday, Y&R’s re-airing an episode from 2001. Nick proves he can be unbelievably romantic as he takes Sharon on a magical journey. Sharon’s thrilled over Nick’s romantic setup, which takes them to a faraway land. Nick goes all out with a tent, costumes and special cuisine, so Sharon’s a happy camper.
Friday’s episode is a more recent one from 2019. It features that incredible carnival set, which helped score Y&R a Daytime Emmy for Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design for a Drama or Digital Drama Series. It’s easy to see why because it really was impressive and authentic!
As for what happened at that carnival, The Young and the Restless fans will recall Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) “second first date” with Elena Dawson (Brynti Sarpy) – which included cotton candy and stuffed teddy bear victories.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) also takes a break from the drama surrounding his experimental treatment and potential side effects. He hits the carnival with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who’s glad to see her husband in good spirits. Meanwhile, Summer Newman (Hunter King) clashes with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), gets drunk and finds comfort in Phyllis’ hotel suite.
That’s all coming up during the week of July 6-10, so don’t miss all the action! The Young and the Restless spoilers say the show’s hoping to resume filming on July 13, so let’s hope new episodes aren’t too far off. We’ll pass along updates as other Y&R news rolls in.
