The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that sooner or later, another pregnancy storyline is coming up on the CBS soap. Y&R fans know Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) has a bun in the oven, but what happens once she gives birth to her son with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart)? Baby drama is quite common on soaps, so it’s reasonable to assume another character will get pregnant down the road.
When the next pregnancy storyline comes along, who will receive it? Let’s focus on some potential candidates for a new baby. There are three women who could benefit from becoming first-time moms – at least in terms of bringing drama to the show!
These are all women in stable romances, but a surprise pregnancy would throw any of them for a loop.
For starters, there’s Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). Abby has fallen fast and hard for Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz), but things haven’t gotten all that serious between them yet.
Chance and Abby have mostly been having fun in the bedroom and scheming a little along the way. It’d be great for Y&R to throw a pregnancy shocker at them – just to see how Abby and Chance would handle it.
Abby’s had a miscarriage before, so a new pregnancy could definitely bring some doubts and fears. There’s also the matter of Abby’s career and how this baby would fit in. The Young and the Restless could offer some interesting challenges if Abby ultimately finds herself facing a positive pregnancy test eventually.
Of course, there are other potential baby drama contenders. What about Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy)? Elena’s happy and madly in love with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), so it’d be interesting to see them tackle parenthood together.
There’s no reason why Y&R shouldn’t move things along for Elena and Devon. A baby would be a huge step for “Elevon,” but they’d no doubt be excellent parents.
Y&R could even do a double surprise if they wanted to. Just imagine Devon surprising Elena with a marriage proposal only to get a baby bomb dropped on him!
However, Summer Newman (Hunter King) would be another terrific first-time mom candidate on upcoming episodes. Summer certainly doesn’t want to rush her relationship with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Although Summer’s thrilled to be back together with Kyle, she wants to move slowly and do things right this time.
That could mean Y&R will eventually throw a major curveball at Summer and Kyle. A baby bombshell would bring some real changes to their lives, so it’d be a fun way to create drama for this couple.
Kyle and Summer are going to need something to shake things up for them, so a surprise pregnancy would do the trick.
