The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Courtney Hope is headed to Genoa City, but it’s not yet known whether she’ll be playing Sally Spectra like she did on The Bold and the Beautiful. Hope could easily wind up portraying a brand-new character – and if she does, we can think of a great option.
Y&R fans know Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) is digging into the missing person’s case from Vegas. That opens the door for us to finally meet a mystery woman.
As a reminder, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) killed a man to protect Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) and ended up sending payments to keep that man’s wife quiet.
After the widow started causing problems, Chance and Adam met up with Riza Thomas (Tina Casciani) in Sin City. Riza pointed out that this woman didn’t really care about her missing husband, who’s actually dead.
The wife’s concern was about a massive amount of cash she believed he hid. Adam paid the woman a million bucks to appease her, but now Alyssa’s stirring the pot.
Since this woman was clearly in the marriage for the money, she’s probably some young hot thing. This dead man probably wasn’t anything to write home about in the looks department, but he had money ad could offer this woman security. No matter how old he was, a guy like that would have a young, attractive wife. He essentially bought her.
We can picture Courtney Hope playing this mysterious widow, especially now that Alyssa’s on the case. If you’re doing a story on a missing person, you’re absolutely going to seek out that person’s spouse. Alyssa has undoubtedly already been in touch with this mystery woman. It’s just a matter of how much the wife divulged.
Will this woman finally turn on Adam? Could she show up in Genoa City, especially if Adam gets arrested and goes on trial? It seems necessary to include the dead man’s wife in the rest of this storyline. With that in mind, The Young and the Restless has to cast her – and we know they’ve cast Hope as someone yet-to-be announced.
Plus, it’s obvious Y&R currently values Adam above all other characters. It’s basically The Adam Show these days, so it makes sense for them to tie Hope’s character to Adam’s story.
Of course, this woman could eventually stick around and interact with others on canvas, but that might be how Y&R puts her in the mix. This widow angle seems like a good way to go.
