TLC 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days spoilers tease that Big Ed Brown has gotten a lot of flak on social media over his treatment of Rosemarie Vega. As viewers know, on the show Ed is currently in the Philippines getting to know Rosemarie and her family, but there have been several bumpy moments along the way that have gotten Ed a lot of hate comments on social media.
One incident had to do with the way Ed handled asking Rosemarie about getting tested for STDs. Ed just kind of blurted out that he wanted Rosemarie to get tested, and it ended up seriously offending her. Viewers spoke out about that incident, and many thought that Ed had been very insensitive to Rosemarie. Later, Ed said that in hindsight he felt he handled the situation poorly and would have done things differently.
Then there was the incident where Ed got grossed out by Rosemarie’s unshaven legs. He ultimately asked her to shave, and he ended up shaving his beard at Rosemarie’s request. Viewers had a lot to say about that incident as well, with some people calling it inappropriate for Ed to act up in arms about something that was just a cultural difference.
Well, in the most recent sneak peek at Sunday’s new episode of the show, Ed made another move. Ed purchased Rosemarie a bathing suit, some lingerie…and some toothpaste, mouthwash, and a toothbrush. Ed tried to gently tell Rosemarie that she had bad breath and that he was worried about her health, but the whole thing really put Rosemarie off, and she ended up walking out of the room in disgust.
A lot of fans seem to think that Ed has been more than insensitive to Rosemarie. In fact, one person recently wrote on Ed’s Instagram feed: “You have done nothing but embarrass Rose since you got there, you don’t respect her culture, you should have just gone home early, all you did was embarrass yourself.”
And another person stated: “Rose needs to give you a mirror and say I’m concerned about your health. Creep.” And still someone else commented: “You’re a rude mean shallow person!!! How dumb are you not to know that a person’s bad breath is usually caused by a health issue?!”
That all being said, there is another side to this story. After Ed attempted to give Rosemarie the oral hygiene products, she did pretty rudely walk out on him, and she said very clearly in her native language, “You’re ugly.” In addition, it’s looking more and more like Rosemarie might have known that her sister reached out to Ed for money in a previous episode.
We’ll see what happens there, as the previews show Ed asking Rosemarie directly about whether she knew about her sister’s reach out for money. It looks like Rosemarie will have to face the music about that soon, if indeed she did know about her sister’s actions.
At any rate, it seems like one could make the argument that Rosemarie does her share of insensitive actions against Big Ed. After all, calling someone ugly in your native language right in front of them is a pretty aggressive thing to do. And if Rose is in on the scam to get money out of Big Ed, well that’s pretty bad.
More is yet to unfold on the show, so we’ll see how this all comes out in the end. But we have to wonder…who’s the real victim here? What do you think?
