TLC 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days spoilers has some news to pass on about the relationship between Lisa Hamme and Usman Umar. As viewers know, on the show the couple has been trying desperately to get Usman’s mom’s blessing on their union so that they can get married. Lisa has jumped through a lot of hoops to try to get “mommy’s” blessing, but it has been difficult.
Well, in the sneak peek for Sunday’s all-new episode, Lisa and Usman finally have success in persuading his mother that they are a good match. It’s a triumphant moment for the couple, and it signals a big step forward for Lisa and Usman.
But in a recent live video appearance on the “Lip Service” podcast, Usman made a big claim – he said that he wanted more than one wife. During the podcast, Usman noted that in his religion and in his culture, he’s allowed to get married to four wives. But he also acknowledged that Lisa wasn’t ok with it.
“She’s not ok with it, but she cannot stop me,” Usman said. “Yeah, that is the truth. See, in as much as she cannot give child, even if we are going to stay together, I must get child. And that is to say, I have to get married to another woman. It’s definitely. Not only Lisa, whoever I am going to stay with in my life, if you cannot give me a child, honestly I have to get another wife. That is a must.”
It wasn’t long after this revelation that Lisa spoke out about Usman’s words. In an exclusive statement to In Touch Weekly, Lisa’s promoter addressed Usman’s statement on her behalf. He said: “As far as four wives in the Islamic religion, it is acceptable for him to take four wives.”
The promoter continued: “BUT and I mean BUT, he must be able to provide for all four wives…financially, housing, utilities, vehicles, car insurance, and medical insurance. At that point, if he is able to do all of that, he may take another wife. The wives do not have to contribute their personal finances with him.”
In Touch Weekly also reported that Lisa’s promoter confirmed that Lisa is still together with Usman at this point. Of course, we have to note that Lisa has expressed jealousy and control issues in the past – it’s come up on the show – so we’re not sure how feasible the idea of more wives will be in reality.
But, it just might be one of those issues that Lisa and Usman will have to deal with at at later time. Lisa’s response through her promotor makes it sound like she thinks Usman has a long way to go before he’s ready to support multiple wives. We’ll see what happens there.
