Amber takes pictures, she stops the whole class to get a cute one. Emma is not excited about the picture taking, Alex says one should be enough. Overall the aerobics/bungee class was fun for the whole family. They burnt some calories and got into some shape.
The next day Jonah goes outside, Trent is there. Jonah got a full-time job as a car salesman in a dealership nearby. He speaks to his dad about a pedal extension, he needs to have a portable one so he can do test drives at the dealership. They go inside and look over some pedal extensions together, Trent believes he knows best but Trent clearly has a hard time taking the advice that he asked for. Trent asks him to takes his advice and try what he suggests, Jonah gives in.
Trent and Amber’s birthdays are coming up, the kids have planned a surprise scavenger hunt. They have a total of ten clues that they all have come up with. The last clue is in the pool and they remove all the pool tools so their dad can’t use them, he will have to get into the water.
Trent and Amber are on their way home to find their birthday surprise. They come in and the kitchen is decorated and the kids are acting squirmy and weird, they know there is something up their sleeve. Trent and Amber are excited, but also fear what the kids have done. They finally arrive at the clue in the pool, Trent starts looking for the pool equipment, and it’s gone; Trent says this is something Amber would do, they learned from her.
Amber calls Trent a wimp because he won’t go in the water, so she jumps right in and gets the clue. Then they have to take a hike to the river with Amber soaking wet. The kids hustle their way back up so they can set up the last clue. The kids buy them a camera to collect lasting memories. Trent and Amber love the thoughtful gift and the scavenger hunt. Trent says Amber is his favorite wife, she jumped in the pool for him.
The next day, Trent is in the garage and Jonah tells him the pedal extensions finally came in and he would like to have some help. The dealership let him borrow a manual stick car so he could practice. Trent shows Jonah how to install them. Trent is happy they are not fussing with each other and are getting along. Sometimes Trent thinks it is his expectations for Jonah that cause the problems. Trent says pedal extensions are just a part of their life. Trent tells Jonah to not get discouraged and don’t depend on anyone but himself. The pedals are on, the two go for a test drive. It’s been a while since Trent drove a manual transmission car. As a teenager growing up his buddies had manual transmission pickup trucks, but it’s been a long time. Jonah takes the driver’s seat and he has a hard time trying to drive the car with manual transmission. After a few tries, he finally gets it and Trent is pleased and thinks with practice Jonah is going to get much better.
The family, minus Elizabeth because she has to work, goes hiking to Little Grand Canyon. Amber snaps selfies, Alex thinks she is going overboard, every three feet she takes a picture. Anna slips and falls, but she is not hurt and laughs at herself. Alex is not thrilled with the hike, he says he could have had the same walk around the house. And, Amber continues to take photos. Even though life is changing and the kids are moving out, Amber is happy that they got to spend time with the kids for their birthdays.
