In tonight’s Coroner episode, Jenny runs through the woods as she thinks about Liam’s letter. He has gone to rehab but is in a good place now. He misses her. She lays in the leaves. Across town, a man rides his bike. He crashes. Another man finds a dead woman.
Jenny talks by FaceTime with a psychiatrist. She vents about Liam and his leaving. A lot of people have left her when she thinks about it. Her psychiatrist gives her homework – she must say yes to everything for the rest of the week.
Donovan learns that he has a tumor in his spine. He will need radiation. He takes the news without much emotion, worried about work. He heads to meet Jenny to look at a body of a 65-year-old male named Andrew who was hit by a van on his bike.
Jenny meets with a woman about silent retreats. She asks a few questions before she is brought to see a woman who is dead. She prays for her when she examines her. Her name is Shirley. She notices no injuries. The man who found her asks how she died. They mention she just went through a mindful transformation days ago. Meanwhile, Liam works with a horse. The horse doesn’t seem to trust him.
Jenny looks over Andrew’s body. He has knife wounds. After she notices Shirley has poison ivy on her legs. They find pills in her system. It appears to be a possible suicide. Meanwhile, Abed and Donovan question a man about Andrew.
Jenny tells Shirley’s husband that she committed suicide. He thought everything was fine and then she asked for a divorce while at the retreat. She also withdrew a lot of money from their account. He went to the retreat and they wouldn’t let him see her.
Jenny heads outside at the retreat to talk to some of these attendings. One woman shares that aren’t allowed to talk to outsiders. Across the lawn, Jenny sees a man telling participants to save themselves. This place will kill them. Jenny heads to talk to him. His son went there and then killed himself.
Donovan plays ball with his dad who is extra happy with life at the moment. Jenny questions the retreat leader’s methods. Jenny attends a meeting and sees that the leader is very aggressive, making a woman cry.
Liam works on grooming a horse. He talks to a woman about Jenny and how she hasn’t answered his letter. The woman offers him a job. Meanwhile, Donovan is questioned why he needs Thursdays off. He tells his partner about waxing. They then watch video footage pulled off of Andrew he used when making deliveries for a restaurant. They see the man they questioned and Andrew fights.
Jenny asks the leader’s son a few questions. She heads to Shirley’s room and looks around. She finds her phone, playing videos. Shirley was in love and not with her husband. After, Jenny heads outside and looks around on the property in the dark. She runs into a man from the retreat. He has poison ivy. She asks him about Shirley. He tells her it wasn’t him. He didn’t kill her. She was crazy, she tried to kiss him. They had never received spoken before that night.
Jenny heads back to Shirley’s room. She hears noises through the vents and follows the sound. It leads to the room of the leader’s son. Jenny confronts him. He answers honestly that they developed a relationship. Shirley didn’t know who he was or how young because she didn’t know the layout of the house. He then leads her to believe he was another participant but when Shirley hatched a plan to leave together, the son broke up with her.
Donovan heads to radiation alone after seeing his dad. He doesn’t tell him. Jenny financial texts Liam who has found himself in bed with the woman from the ranch.
