Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Abe Carver (James Reynolds) has been on cloud nine since the birth of his new grandchildren. Abe keeps himself busy with his mayor gig, and he’s on the pulse of everything that’s going on in Salem. However, one area in which Abe hasn’t had much luck lately is in the romance department.
As Days of Our Lives viewers know, Abe had a relationship in the past with Valerie Grant (Vanessa Williams), and he sort-of got close to Sheila Watkims (Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins) a while back. But really, since Valerie has been around on a full-time basis, Abe hasn’t had any serious romantic prospects.
For a while there, it seemed like maybe Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) and Abe might be getting closer, after Kate took a position as Abe’s public relations director.
But that never seemed to go anywhere, and then Kate jumped into a a fling with Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), pretty much squashing any hope that she and Abe would get together.
Well, the new Days of Our Lives extended promo shows a possible glimmer of hope for Abe, as he asks Valerie if they might be able to rekindle things.
Now, when Valerie was back for Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) wedding, she was seeing Eli’s old mentor, so any rekindling of things with Abe seemed bleak.
But it looks like Valerie might be single again, and Abe will at least float the idea of whether the two of them could be more than friends. We’ll see what Valerie says, but it would be great to see Abe have some companionship again – let’s face it, Abe deserves it, and he and Valerie were pretty good together at one point.
We’ll see what Valerie ends up saying – who knows, she could turn Abe down flat. After all, there were some very real issues that led to Valerie and Abe’s breakup, including the issue of Valerie living in Washington DC.
Or maybe Abe and Valerie will try to give their long-distance relationship another go. We’ll see what happens here.
