Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) is pregnant, but is Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) really the father? It’s wise to consider other possibilities since this is Gwen we’re talking about.
Gwen is a master manipulator who lies with ease, so there’s the potential for her to lie about this child’s paternity, too.
DOOL writers brought up the Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) clone embryo last fall, but the inclusion of that in the April Fools’ Day show makes it less likely that it’ll be part of a legitimate story.
It was played up as something comical and totally ridiculous, so it’d be weird for it to be something that happens for real now.
However, there might be another option here. What if Gwen slept with someone else following her New Year’s Eve romp with Chad? We can think of a guy that Gwen might’ve hooked up with – and that’s Charlie Dale (Mike Manning).
Days fans will recall how Charlie and Gwen connected since he had Mommy issues and she had Daddy issues. They found common ground over siblings that were treated like golden children and parents that didn’t acknowledge them growing up.
What was the point of Gwen and Charlie interacting in late January when they were both going through a rough time? Could the pair have met up off screen again for a secret night of passion and comfort?
Regardless, it’s something that DOOL writers could include now if they didn’t want Chad to be the true father.
Of course, anything that happened between Charlie and Gwen would’ve been consensual since she was later shocked and appalled by his assault of Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). What if part of Gwen’s disgust was due to finding out she slept with a man capable of that?
Since Charlie is dead and had a tarnished reputation, it’s easy to imagine Gwen fudging the dates a bit and trying to pass off Charlie’s baby as Chad’s. Chad is a wealthy DiMera who’s far more respected than a murdered rapist that everyone hated.
Days spoilers suggest Chad’s the one who could be a present dad and give this baby a good life – the kind of life that Gwen never had as a child. Gwen would have a strong motive to deceive Chad and get him to step up.
If this baby really belongs to Charlie, that would give Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) a half-sibling on canvas. That might be something interesting to explore in future storylines.
Regardless, there’s no guarantee Gwen will be telling the truth about her baby’s paternity. Days of Our Lives spoilers say a paternity mystery is possible, so could Charlie be this kid’s biological father?
