Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some fantastic wedding news to pass along about a popular DOOL star. Freddie Smith, who portrays Sonny Kiriakis on the NBC soap, recently shared with his social media followers that he got married on New Year’s Eve!
Freddie married his girlfriend Alyssa Tabit, with whom he produces his YouTube show called “The Freddie & Alyssa Show.”
Freddie and Alyssa made the announcement on their YouTube channel, where they shared an emotional video about their New Year’s Eve wedding, which took place at The Four Seasons Resort in Orlando, Florida.
The video begins by chronicling the hours leading up to the wedding, as both Freddie and Alyssa are preparing for their big moment.
Alyssa’s father speaks on the video in a touching video to the bride and groom – we should note that the couple’s family were unable to attend the wedding due to COVID, and Freddie is shown having an emotional exchange with his parents before the ceremony, which was recorded for posterity.
Alyssa is shown walking down the stairs of the resort and approaching Freddie, who’s smiling big.
The officiant then begins the ceremony as Freddie and Alyssa beam at each other happily. During his vows, Freddie talks about their first months together, when they were “just friends,” and then he describes how they started dating.
Alyssa then tearfully gives her vows, saying that Freddie has exceeded her wildest dreams, and that he supports and celebrates her all the time.
Freddie and Alyssa happily kiss after the officiant pronounces them husband and wife, then they they have champagne and cake together with their adorable dog, Benji, who’s decked out in a little tux.
Freddie and Alyssa have a romantic first dance together – it’s a beautiful ending to a beautiful socially distanced wedding, and they even include Benji in their dance!
At the end, Freddie and Alyssa address the camera and thank everyone for virtually attending their wedding.
“It may be a bit untraditional, but in such uncertain times, the one thing we were certain for is our love for one another, so we’re just so grateful you guys are here with us,” Alyssa says to her friends, family, and fans who are watching.
Freddie posted a snippet from the video on his Instagram account as well, and many of his Days of Our Lives co-stars liked or commented on the news of his wedding. Alyssa posted a bunch of photos from the wedding on her Instagram feed as well, which include Benji.
It certainly seems that Freddie and Alyssa had a special ceremony and made the best of the limitations that COVID imposed on the ceremony.
