Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Friday, August 27, teases that Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) will create some double date drama – and EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) will meet Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens). Bonnie Lockhart’s (Judi Evans) criminal history will also haunt her in a big way, so here’s what DOOL fans can expect.
In the town square on Friday’s Days episode, Tripp will offer a box that perhaps contains some stuff for Sweet Bits Bakery’s grand opening.
EJ will also chat with Chanel about her love life and hope her new man provides a distraction from Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold).
Tripp will even suggest meeting up for a double date, so Days spoilers say Chanel will agree – though she may think this is going to be awkward.
Of course, there’s another layer to all this that’ll make things even more uncomfortable. Chanel’s mystery man is Allie’s twin brother, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), so Allie’s going to freak once that info comes to light.
For now, Allie will get updates on the double date plan and will find out Chanel’s into someone named “Giovanni.”
That’ll catch Allie off guard since Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) used to refer to Johnny by that name, but she’ll just view it as a strange coincidence – or at least she’ll want to believe it’s one!
After Allie speaks with Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) at the hospital, she’ll meet up with Tripp and head to the bar for their double date drinks.
The stage will be set for the big Johnny reveal, but that shocker may have to wait until Monday.
Until then, Chanel will pay Johnny a visit at the DiMera mansion – most likely to deliver the invitation Tripp has in mind.
Johnny may assure Chanel that he’s down to meet her bestie, but he won’t realize he already knows her quite well.
Chanel will also meet EJ while she’s at the mansion, but she won’t put it together that he’s the same guy who’s divorcing Allie’s mom, Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney).
EJ may sense that Johnny’s smitten with Chanel and hope she can talk him into joining the family business instead of focusing on frivolous filmmaking.
However, Chanel may insist it’s good to follow your dreams since she’s about to take a risk and open her own bakery.
When Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) and Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) appear, Johnny will corner them and let them watch a little taste of his work.
Anna and Tony will check out some of Johnny’s phone footage and hear all about his plans for an exciting new movie.
Johnny will hope Tony and Anna are willing to support him with a substantial donation, so we’ll see if they go against EJ’s wishes or not.
Across town, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) will get Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) to grant his best man wish.
Bonnie certainly isn’t the ideal wife in Steve’s eyes, but he’s made peace with Justin’s decision and will want to support him.
Unfortunately, the wedding will be in jeopardy thanks to Calista Lockhart’s (Cady Huffman) surprise visit.
Bonnie was floored when offscreen Calista walked in – and it seems she’ll pass out since her former sister-in-law was dead as far as Bonnie knew.
Once Bonnie awakens following this fainting spell, she’ll realize her nightmare is a reality. Calista will put Bonnie in a bind when she barks orders and threatens to spill some shocking secret if Bonnie doesn’t cave in.
There’s apparently something illegal that Bonnie covered up – maybe even Calista’s attempted murder!
Regardless, Bonnie will be desperate to keep Calista’s mouth shut and make sure this wedding moves forward, but that could mean playing dirty for her sister-in-law’s sake.
There’ll be some new crime Calista needs help with, so Bonnie will feel stuck and worried about what the future holds.
