Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, December 17, reveals that possessed Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) kissed Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) while Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) told a wild story. Belle Brady (Martha Madison) also found out the pub security footage had been erased, so here’s how all the DOOL action played out.
At the townhouse on Friday’s Days episode, Belle fussed over John Black (Drake Hogestyn) following his cabin ordeal with the devil. John asked about the Philip investigation before talk turned back to Marlena and his desire to find her.
Belle eventually got a call about Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) arrest and headed for the police station. In the meantime, Brady admitted to Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) that his memory flashes seemed just out of reach.
After Brady asked Chloe to check on John, she assured Brady that she knew his heart and added that they’d get through this together.
Next on Friday’s episode of Days, Belle brought Brady up to speed on having to knock Marlena unconscious.
They also discussed how Philip was dead in the eyes of the law thanks to Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and Kate Roberts’ (Lauren Koslow) move – though Belle mostly blamed Kate.
Brady said his mind was blank after the call he took outside the pub that night. He only recalled hearing voices, but Belle knew they’d need something concrete to discredit all the circumstantial evidence.
Belle decided maybe the pub’s security camera might’ve caught what happened after Brady blacked out.
Back at the townhouse, Chloe paid John a visit as promised and let him know Philip had legally been declared dead. John was pleased over Chloe’s faith in Brady’s innocence since he didn’t think Brady was guilty either.
Chloe decided she should track down Kate and try to change her mind about her latest Philip decision.
In Kate’s room, she embraced Philip and got confirmation that he was fine. Philip said he was the one who went after Brady and admitted to making it look like Brady killed him.
“You bastard!” Kate hissed before slapping Philip. She was upset over what Philip was putting his family through, but Philip thought she must be curious about how he pulled this off.
Philip told the story of Brady’s downfall, which involved dragging Brady’s unconscious body into the bushes after knocking him out. He then got Brady’s credit card out of his wallet and charged a bunch of shots on it.
Philip injected booze right into Brady’s system, so Kate complained that he could’ve killed him. That was a risk Philip was willing to take since he was determined to teach Brady and Chloe a lesson.
Philip went on to explain that he sent threatening texts through Brady’s phone and stuffed Brady in his trunk. He lugged Brady to the riverside, where he cut his hand and smeared his own blood all over the knife and Brady.
Philip left a trail of blood and threw his prosthetic leg in the middle of the river.
Philip revealed he was now using his old one and seemed proud of his brilliant plan, but Kate thought all of this was outrageous. She wondered if Philip was just going to stay dead forever, but he clarified that he would for now.
Kate didn’t know if she could keep this a secret from Victor, but Philip pointed out that Victor said his son was dead to him.
They bickered over all the people who were mourning before Chloe knocked on the door and called out to Kate. Philip nervously told Kate not to answer that as they stood there in a panic.
In the town square, Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) demanded to know where Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) was.
Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) thought Xander was being rude and ultimately met Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), who kept reminding Xander that they had a flight to catch.
Rex assured Xander that he had no idea where Sarah was and hadn’t seen her in months – not since the day of her non-wedding.
Xander learned Sarah jilted Rex just like him and kept pushing for answers, but Rex couldn’t offer much beyond the fact that they both got dumped.
After Rex sauntered off, Xander told Gwen that they couldn’t possibly go on their trip now. He was determined to figure out why Sarah lied about where she went, especially since she lied to Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers), too.
Belle found Rex in the pub and asked about the security footage before returning to Brady. She then informed Brady that someone had erased the footage from the night Philip went missing.
In Kayla’s office, “Steve Johnson” (Stephen Nichols) offered updates on Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) cabin drama with possessed Marlena.
“Steve” suggested it made you realize how vulnerable you can be and kissed Kayla – only to pull back and reveal Marlena had transformed herself into Steve for the trick.
“Now I know why they call you Sweetness!” possessed Marlena exclaimed. Kayla insisted Marlena was sick and worried about Steve, but Marlena said she was after Kayla.
After Marlena revealed her plan to put Belle and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) through a fate worse than death, she argued Kayla would be the key to helping her do that.
John tried to call Kayla, but Marlena smacked the phone out of her hand as her anger grew. Later, Kayla was unconscious on the flood with a bloody gash on her head.
Marlena used Kayla’s key card to score access to Jan Spears’ (Heather Lindell) room in the coma unit and told Jan it was time for “Sleeping Beauty” to wake up.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Jan and Marlena’s partnership will bring some hilarious moments, so don’t miss what they’re about to cook up.
