Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, July 2, reveals that Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) engagement to Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) shocked Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) while Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) “Price Town” project was revealed.
At Ben’s place, he walked in and wondered if Ciara was real. Ciara seemed confused, so Ben explained he just had a dream that she got her memories back and wanted to reunite with him.
He begged Ciara to tell him that’s what was happening now, but Ciara insisted she was there to get Ben to sign the divorce papers she sent a month ago.
Ben argued that he couldn’t since he burned them, but Ciara pulled out an extra set and had a pen if Ben needed it. She admitted she didn’t want to hurt Ben, but she was just trying to move on.
Ciara pointed out that she came all this way and pushed Ben to just please sign them, but Ben wanted to talk first.
Ciara didn’t think there was anything left to talk about, so Ben convinced her to at least listen. He acknowledged that Ciara needed space, but now she was there in Salem.
Ben couldn’t look Ciara in the face and pretend he was OK with signing these divorce papers. Ciara thought that was Ben’s problem, but he insisted it was their problem instead.
As Ciara got increasingly agitated, she reminded Ben that he was a serial killer. Ciara wondered why she’d want to remember her life with Ben.
“Because you love me! Deep down, you remember that and you remember us!” Ben shouted.
Ciara disagreed and told Ben that she’d built a new life in South Africa with Theo, which had nothing to do with Ben.
Ben refused to give up on Ciara and wondered what difference it made whether he signed today, tomorrow or a year from now. “Because Theo and I are engaged,” Ciara said on Friday’s Days episode.
At Julie’s Place, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) discussed the wedding fever around this time last year.
They reflected on Ciara not being able to remember Ben and winding up in South Africa, who suddenly appeared and got a hug from Julie.
Julie and Doug found out that Ciara was also in Salem before Chanel Dupree (Precious Way) walked in.
Theo filled Chanel in on his last-minute decision to attend Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) anniversary party.
Chanel mentioned her new bakery, so Theo thought that was great and suggested she seemed “more serious” than the last time he saw her.
Theo and Chanel discussed all the family weirdness of his sister being married to her cousin – and now his dad dating her mom.
However, Theo felt like celebrating love was the most important thing.
At home on Friday’s Days episode, Lani thought it was strange for Paulina to lie about not dating anyone in so long when she supposedly just broke up with a guy in Miami.
Paulina and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) weren’t even together when it was going on, so Lani didn’t think the lie made sense.
Abe mentioned something about talking to Paulina at the party, so the surprise was quickly blown.
Lani figured out that Eli had planned a bash for their anniversary, but she assured Abe it wasn’t a big deal. She promised she could pretend to be surprised, so they eventually headed to the gathering at Julie’s Place.
Meanwhile, Paulina made a phone call to once again insist the demolition had to happen today. She didn’t want to be anywhere near the demo site when it happened.
At the Horton house, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) got a call and found out Dr. Clay Snyder (Michael Lowder) didn’t die by drowning. He assumed that the body had been dumped in the lake after death.
Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) tried to act like maybe it was a boating accident, but Eli didn’t think so. He also pushed Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) for answers about her conflict with Dr. Snyder and the last time she saw him.
Gwen blamed Dr. Snyder’s bad bedside manner and insisted she last saw him at a follow-up appointment at the hospital.
Xander tried to act like this was becoming harassment, but Eli argued it was routine procedure. Nevertheless, Xander felt Gwen had answered all Eli’s questions and thought they were done here.
After Eli left, Gwen called Xander an idiot since he hadn’t disposed of the body properly. Xander became concerned about a lie that Gwen told Eli – one that could be contradicted.
Xander pointed out that Julie saw Dr. Snyder at the house, but Gwen hoped that maybe Julie didn’t get a good look at his face. Still, Xander said that Julie could potentially sink them both unless they killed her.
“What?!” Gwen exclaimed on Friday’s DOOL episode. Xander said that “of course” he was joking, but he had a strange look on his face.
Back at Julie’s Place, Eli arrived shortly before Lani came in with Abe. Lani did a good job of pretending she had no idea about the party in advance.
When Lani saw Theo, she was genuinely shocked to see him and was touched that he came all this way to help celebrate.
Theo hinted about having some big news to share, but he was interrupted by Abe’s toast to the happy couple.
Julie also quizzed Abe and Paulina about the nature of their relationship, so Paulina purred about their “torrid affair.”
Suddenly, a construction worker came in and called out for Paulina Price to sign off on a demolition order.
Paulina said it wasn’t a great time, but the guy didn’t have all day. After Paulina signed, the man gave her a copy and sauntered back out.
All the party guests had questions since Paulina didn’t need a demolition order to knock down a few walls.
Abe grabbed the paper and realized Paulina intended to demolish the Horton Town Square completely. He said they had to stop the construction crew and pushed Eli to come with him.
Lani wanted to go as well, so she got Julie and Theo to watch over the twins. Chanel looked hurt over Paulina’s deception and then rushed toward the town square, too.
Julie ranted about how she knew from the moment she laid eyes on Paulina that she couldn’t be trusted.
As the construction crew prepared to start the demolition, Eli approached one of the workers who was about to take down the plaque of Tom Horton (Macdonald Carey) and Alice Horton (Frances Reid).
“Stop! Those are my great-great grandparents!” Eli shouted.
The construction guy knocked the plaque down anyway and insisted this site was going to be the future home of Price Town.
“What the hell is Price Town?!” Abe asked as Paulina approached looking nervous.
