Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for recap Friday, May 14, reveals that Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) was bound and gagged for transport while Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) made a scary discovery and Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) came up with a cover story for Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering).
In the DiMera basement, Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) was relieved when Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) woke up in the DiMera secret room with her. Lucas explained how he was about to call Rafe and rat out Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) when he was hit over the head.
Sami assumed the walls must really be closing in on Kristen, but she was offended when Lucas insisted this was all Sami’s fault.
Sami defended her actions since she couldn’t let EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) find out she cheated, but Lucas beat himself up for not going to the cops right away and felt he shouldn’t care whether EJ learned the truth.
Sami argued that it’d destroy her life and argued it shouldn’t matter what Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) thought of Lucas. Talk eventually turned to Nicole on Friday’s Days episode, so Sami ranted about her enemy still being a “slut” while Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) was off helping people in need.
Lucas didn’t believe Nicole would cheat on Eric with Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and didn’t think Sami should take her guilty conscience out on Nicole. Sami fired back that maybe she should take it out on Lucas instead!
When Lucas started badmouthing EJ, Sami warned him not to say another word. Lucas urged Sami to hit him, but then he grabbed her wrist before she could. Sami and Lucas stared at each other for a moment before kissing passionately.
In the town square, Nicole tried to act like she was at the Salem Inn for a morning meeting, but she eventually admitted Eric called last night and extended his trip again. Rafe was stunned and hated that he hadn’t been there for Nicole when she needed him.
Nicole confessed that she thought her marriage was over and claimed that she booked a room at the Salem Inn so Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) and the kids wouldn’t see her wasted. Rafe assured Nicole that she didn’t have to be alone and that he’d be there for her anytime.
After Rafe hugged Nicole, he noticed the cologne-ish scent she had on her. Nicole covered by suggesting it was a new unisex scent they were trying out at Basic Black. Rafe once again reminded Nicole to call him anytime if she needed him, so Nicole agreed to and rushed off.
At the hospital on Friday’s DOOL episode, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) came in Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) room and got updates on Kristen’s swap with Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk).
Marlena tried calling Chloe, Susan and Sami, but she just kept getting voicemail. Both Marlena and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) felt it was time to call the police since they had a bad feeling about all this.
Marlena eventually got in touch with Rafe and said Brady had proof of Kristen’s escape. She insisted they had reason to believe Kristen would be a danger to anyone who crossed her path.
At the DiMera mansion, Chloe noticed “Susan” coming out of the secret panels and grilled her about it. When Chloe wasn’t satisfied with the answers she got, she decided to head down to the secret room herself.
“Susan” physically stopped Chloe while Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) admitted she was woozy upstairs in Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Camila Banus) room.
Kate sat down on the bed while Gabi and Jake put their robes on. Jake pointed out that Kate broke up with him, but Kate insisted that was Kristen wearing a mask of her face.
Kate was still pretty out of it, but she could see that Jake wasted no time moving on with Gabi and snapped about how they deserved each other. Once Kate was gone, Jake assured Gabi that nothing had changed.
Gabi thought Jake meant that he still loved Gabi, but he corrected her and insisted that everything he said last night was true – that he wanted to be with Gabi, not Kate.
Jake talked about how he never stopped wanting Gabi, so she admitted she never stopped wanting him either. While Gabi and Jake embraced, Kate found Chloe and Kristen fighting downstairs.
After Kate offered Chloe a warning, the pieces clicked into place for Chloe. Chloe realized that Kristen had been posing as Susan, so Kristen suggested Chloe picked the wrong time to develop a few brain cells.
Kristen had gone to too much trouble to deal with Chloe and refused to let all her hard work be for nothing. Soon after, Chloe was bound and gagged in the trunk of a car on Friday’s Days episode. Kristen stood over Chloe looking all smug and suggested it was going to be a bumpy ride!
Meanwhile, Jake was shocked to find Kate unconscious in the DiMera mansion living room. Across town, Nicole returned home and scolded herself for cheating on Eric. She then decided she needed to shower and wash off the Xander stink.
