Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, October 29, reveals that Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) rose from the grave while Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) inadvertently stopped Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) from killing John Black (Drake Hogestyn). Here’s how it all went down on Friday’s DOOL episode.
At home, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) was spooked as she called out for Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) in the dark. Shawn appeared wearing a mask and scared Belle before talk turned to Marlena’s Halloween costume.
Belle filled Shawn in on the possession movie as well, but she shrugged that maybe it was helping Marlena exorcise old demons.
In the town square, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) acted like the Ouija board was nonsense.
Johnny thought the answer about the devil’s location was awfully specific and wanted to see if he really was in the DiMera crypt. Allie refused to go with Johnny, so he took off on his own.
In the crypt on Friday’s Days episode, Marlena told shackled John that she’d taken steps to make sure she wouldn’t be stopped. After Marlena mentioned Belle being back in Salem, she explained her lie about John being on a case.
Marlena revealed that she would later tell everyone that John had a terrible mishap overseas and died on his mysterious mission. She gleefully pointed out that everyone would mourn the loss without knowing the truth.
Possessed Marlena eventually tried to strangle John and could feel the life force draining out of him. She pushed John to surrender and go into eternity, but John choked out that he wouldn’t and pushed the real Marlena to fight for their love.
Meanwhile, Johnny showed up at the door of the DiMera crypt and was surprised to find it locked. He noted that there was usually a key and began calling out to see if Lucifer was in there.
Johnny was about to leave when Marlena appeared and caught him off guard with her costume.
Possessed Marlena acted like she wore it to support Johnny’s movie and assured him that she loved the script. Marlena also mentioned paying her respects in the crypt, but she didn’t want Johnny to go in due to a “big nasty rat” in there.
Johnny didn’t mind and pointed out that some people even call rodents the devil’s disciples. Marlena was still adamant that Johnny head on his way, but he asked if he could take a picture of her first.
Johnny said Allie didn’t believe the Ouija board, but he suggested the spirits weren’t exactly wrong since Marlena was wearing that costume.
In the cemetery on Friday’s Days episode, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) put flowers on Jordan Ridgeway’s (Chrishell Stause) grave and recalled how she’d been a good sister to him when he was a kid.
Ben shared that he was trying to have kids of his own and wanted to make sure they didn’t end up like him or Jordan.
Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) found Ben and offered reassurance before they met up with Shawn and Belle at the pub for dinner.
Shawn grilled Ben about whether Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) was acting odd before Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) shooting, but Ben suggested Jake just said he had to take care of something and left out the rest of the story.
Ciara urged Shawn to stop giving Ben the third degree before changing the topic to their honeymoon.
Ben and Ciara gushed over the wonderful time they had in New Orleans. They also told Belle and Shawn about how they’d decided to try for a baby.
Shawn and Belle were delighted, but they thought it was strange when they got updates on how invested Marlena was in Ben and Ciara having a child.
Once Belle and Shawn left, Ciara admitted her stomach had been feeling kind of funky. She added that she was a day late when she was usually like clockwork and pulled out a pregnancy test from the pharmacy.
Ben waited while Ciara took the test in the restroom and assumed it was negative based on her face when she returned.
However, Ciara eventually showed off a positive pregnancy test result. Ben scooped Ciara up in his arms as they excitedly talked about how they were going to be parents.
After Johnny’s interruption at the DiMera crypt, Marlena decided to spare John for now. She then took a stroll through the cemetery and noticed Ben put flowers on Jordan’s grave.
Possessed Marlena tossed those flowers aside and talked about how Ben’s baby was hers. She insisted that soon, Jordan wouldn’t be the only bad seed in the family.
Marlena saw Charlie’s grave next and decided she’d have to make Allie believe in the supernatural. The devil ordered Charlie to rise up and prove that his powers were real. Moments later, Charlie’s hand poked through the ground as he came back from the dead.
In the DiMera mansion, Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) talked to Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) about potentially playing roles in Johnny’s movie.
Tony wasn’t as enthusiastic about the idea, but he enjoyed reminiscing with Anna and had some flashbacks of when they got married. Tony insisted Anna was the light of his life, so a weepy Anna told him not to forget it.
