Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Friday, September 17, teases that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will have a painful priest memory while Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) delivers a stunning request. Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) will also have a flirty encounter, so here’s what viewers can expect.
First, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) will spread the word about his new flick all over town. At the pub, Johnny will mention his Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) story plans to Kate, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo).
When Lucas realizes he’s going to be the love of Sami’s life in Johnny’s movie, he’ll grin from ear to ear. It’s EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) who’ll object when he’s relegated to a secondary love interest Sami fell for along the way.
EJ will hate that Johnny’s even making this film, so he’ll no doubt make another pitch for his son to drop it and join him at DiMera Enterprises.
However, Johnny will have a feeling this film is going to be a massive success. He’ll be eager to read the script Will Horton (Chandler Massey) is sending, but he still needs funding for this project.
That means Johnny will have to pop over to John and Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) townhouse.
Johnny will want to speak with John in person about serving as an investor, but John will have some reservations about the subject matter – particularly because Sami’s story is so closely tied to other family members.
Marlena and John will battle concerns about how their scandalous affair will be portrayed, but John will worry about a more serious matter once he’s alone.
Days spoilers say John will pull out his old priest collar as he reflects on the time Marlena was possessed and practically shudders at the thought of it.
That’s not a chapter John will be interested in revisiting or having rehashed through Johnny’s movie. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Johnny will find most interesting once he receives that script and gives it a read!
Meanwhile, Lucas will call Kate out for flirting with Roman – or at least letting Roman flirt with her!
Kate and Roman were a great couple once upon a time, so Lucas will see the potential for a reunion that’s both sweet and steamy. He’ll be rooting for his mom to find happiness and will think Roman might be just the guy to offer it.
Speaking of happiness, that’ll be the goal now that Abigail has agreed to come home and work on her marriage to Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn).
Abigail will clutch a picture the kids drew for her and look forward to spending some time together as a family.
Before they get started on healing their relationship, Abigail will have one thing she needs Chad to do for her. Chad will get updates on Abigail’s unexpected request and no doubt do whatever he can to make it happen for the wife he adores.
At the hospital, Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) will mull over what’s wrong with Doug Williams (Bill Hayes).
Doug’s cognitive tests didn’t indicate dementia, but he’s obviously not acting like himself since he locked Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) in a freezer and later grabbed Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) behind.
Kayla may run that MRI like Julie asked her to, but that’ll probably come back looking perfectly normal. Doug will eventually be taken to Marlena’s office, where she’ll ask some questions and try to help if she can.
Since there seems to be an evil spirit in Doug, this should be how Days gets the ball rolling on the possession storyline.
That story will indeed begin on Friday, September 17, but it looks like DOOL will hold off on letting the wickedness transfer to Marlena.
Days spoilers say Marlena will indeed be possessed by the devil in the coming episodes, but there should be a bit more buildup first.
For now, Doug will go home and look through some old photo albums with Julie.
Julie will be desperate to keep Doug’s mind sharp for as long as she can, but devilish Doug will go off the rails and exhibit his wildest behavior yet during the week of September 20-24.
