Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Charlie Dale’s (Mike Manning) true killer will be revealed to fans on Monday, April 19. Salem will remain in the dark a bit longer, but that’s when viewers will see who actually pulled the trigger. Who came to Charlie’s apartment and murdered him on that fateful night?
There’s no confirmation on who killed Charlie just yet, but Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) remains our top suspect. Back in February before Charlie’s murder took place, CDL speculated that Jan would ultimately be revealed as the killer.
That theory still makes the most sense, especially now that Days has crossed so several suspects off the list. In fact, some new clues support the idea of Jan as the potential murderer. Let’s consider some of them as we await DOOL’s big reveal.
When Jan supposedly first awoke from her coma, she immediately pulled an amnesia act and tried to pretend she was in the dark on all the wedding drama she caused. That proves Jan lies as easily as she breathes! Jan is a pro at charades, so there’s a good chance she woke up long before she claims she did.
It seems likely Jan was able to slip out undetected in the middle of the night, shoot Charlie and return – leaving the hospital staff none the wiser. Jan might’ve recruited some help, but it’d be a bigger shock if we see Jan pull the trigger herself in a flashback.
Since Jan previously considered Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) her BFF, she would’ve had a motive to kill her bestie’s dirtbag rapist boyfriend. That’s particularly true since Jan played matchmaker to help bring Claire and Charlie together. In Jan’s messed-up mind, she was probably righting the wrong.
Regardless, it was weird for Jan to pick up on Belle Brady’s (Martha Madison) missing red button. Why did Jan even notice that? Could it be because Jan planted that button at the scene of the crime?
After Belle is arrested, she’ll be adamant that she was never in Charlie’s apartment. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Belle will initially suspect Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) might’ve framed her, but Jan is a far more likely option. That move would be right up Jan’s alley.
Jan would love to frame Belle for Charlie’s murder – both as payback and to get her out of the way. We can’t forget that Jan is obsessed with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and always wants Belle out of the picture.
There’s also a recent dialogue hint to consider. John Black (Drake Hogestyn) didn’t want Belle to strike the deal that would allow Jan’s freedom. He argued that if Belle let Jan get away with the kidnapping and wedding fiasco, then next thing you know Jan would think she could get away with MURDER!
That’s an anvil if we’ve ever heard one. All the puzzle pieces are lining up for Jan to be the killer – just as we suspected months ago. Jan fits for so many reasons, but it’s especially important to point out she lifts right out of the canvas. Jan is only back temporarily and can easily be hauled off to prison in the end.
This means Days can offer a logical culprit and provide a fun bombshell, but they won’t have to lose any major key players. Jan checks all the right boxes, so we’ll see if it was indeed Jan who fired that fatal bullet and took Charlie out. As other DOOL news comes in, we’ll deliver updates.
