Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) may deliver a marriage proposal in Italy and reveal a surprise engagement to Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) once he returns home.
DOOL fans know Johnny convinced Chanel to let him whisk her away on a romantic adventure, so they took the DiMera jet and headed off to Italy recently. Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) agreed to run the bakery on her own for a while – though we can imagine she was secretly a little ticked off about that.
The least Chanel could’ve done was clear it with Allie herself instead of letting Johnny talk Allie into it. However, Chanel has been dealing with a ton of family drama, so Allie can cut her some slack just this once.
It’s only supposed to be for a couple weeks anyway, but that’s plenty of time for love to truly bloom between Chanel and “Giovanni.” Italy has many romantic spots, so Johnny will undoubtedly find new ways to charm Chanel as they explore together.
By the time Chanel and Johnny return home for Christmas, they’ll have a shocker to share with all their loved ones. Could that involve a surprise engagement?
Days’ winter preview features Johnny and Chanel at Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) apartment, where they’re ready to divulge some big news to Allie and Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams). There’s also a moment where Chanel and Johnny have seemingly gathered EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) to pass along some updates.
Days spoilers say Johnny and Chanel will have an announcement to make, so what’s it going to be? An engagement makes the most sense here, but that could spark major concerns. Paulina likes Johnny, but she may fret over her daughter rushing into another marriage after the Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) disaster.
At the same time, Days viewers will recall that Paulina got engaged to Abe Carver (James Reynolds) rather quickly. Although that wedding didn’t pan out, Paulina may understand that the heart wants what it wants. Chanel actually cares about Johnny, so this is a far better situation than what went down with Xander.
Of course, EJ doesn’t know Chanel all that well and may think this is just another attempt at gold-digging. EJ might act like Chanel just wants to worm her way into a wealthy family, so that could certainly offend Johnny, Chanel and Paulina.
There’s also the matter of Allie’s feelings for Chanel and whether she can quash them enough to let her brother marry her best friend. Johnny will raise the stakes if he proposes and intends to make Chanel his bride, so we’ll see how it all plays out.
