Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that ever since Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) was confirmed to be alive and in captivity, fans have been wondering about the return of another character. We can’t forget that Ciara’s mom, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), is off searching for answers about her presumed dead daughter.
Rhodes (Jason Downs) suggested that clues were planted to ensure Hope wound up on a wild goose chase. Hope has no chance of tracking Hope down considering the way she’s going about it.
It was already like looking for a needle in a haystack, but this bogus trail has made it impossible for Hope to find Ciara alone.
The good news is Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) is making some progress and will bring Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) into the search during the week of February 15-19. The bad news is it doesn’t look like Hope will become part of the new hunt – at least not anytime soon.
In the new issue of SOD, Kristian Alfonso had a joint interview with Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady DiMera). You may have heard by now that Sweeney and Alfonso are both featured in Chronicle Mysteries: Helped to Death, which will premiere on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries later this month.
You can catch that fun flick on February 21 at 8:00 p.m. ET, but what about Alfonso and Sweeney’s roles on DOOL? Days of Our Lives spoilers say Sami will return for February sweeps, so she’s already been filming some great stuff.
Sadly, there’s no sign of Alfonso on set – and Sweeney admitted she misses her close pal!
Since extra COVID-19 precautions are being taken, the cast doesn’t really get to mix and mingle like they used to. Sweeney suggested that was difficult, especially without Alfonso around.
“So it does feel lonely and I miss Kristian even more during those times,” Sweeney said. “And also, I feel that Kristian was the welcoming committee…so there’s a spot missing now.”
Sweeney even joked about how there are no good snacks without Alfonso at the studio. She admitted she had a craving for a Girl Scout cookie recently, so she wished Alfonso had been around to offer one.
Alfonso addressed how long she’d been away from the set as well. Due to DOOL filming in advance and then the pandemic-related shutdown, it’s been quite some time since Alfonso has worked there. “I can’t believe my one-year anniversary of not shooting DAYS OF OUR LIVES is this month,” Alfonso said.
Based on Alfonso and Sweeney’s comments, it’s clear that Alonso hasn’t returned and doesn’t seem to be planning a comeback. Alfonso previously insisted she wouldn’t appear on Days again after she left, but viewers have always been hopeful that she might change her mind.
That could still happen down the road, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Of course, things could change after Ciara eventually gets rescued. It’s possible Alfonso will agree to a quick return stint – or maybe Days will recast Hope if Alfonso isn’t interested.
Whatever the case, Alfonso isn’t back at DOOL so far. That’s important to keep in mind as we continue to follow Ciara’s story.
