Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) possession seems poised to transfer to a new Salemite. Will the devil inhabit Philip Kiriakis’ (Jay Kenneth Johnson) body next? DOOL fans know possessed Marlena has been unleashing her reign of terror, but it’s already starting to wind down.
However, that doesn’t mean the devil will be done in Salem.
There are some Days insider hints about the devil finding a new host, so we have to consider who might be the perfect fit. That brings us to Philip’s sinister, unhinged behavior.
Philip has been going off the rails for a while now, but he’s truly entered evil territory by framing Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) for murder.
When Philip ripped the tree he planted with Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) out of the ground, his rage exploded like never before.
Although Philip isn’t possessed yet, he could be the prime candidate to take over once the devil has to move out of Marlena’s body.
Marlena will have some fun teaming up with Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) between now and then, but we’re talking about a separate possession act that keeps the story going later.
Back in September, Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) complained about Philip as part of their sneaky plan.
They suggested it was like Philip was possessed, so that could’ve been a clue in advance of the story that’s brewing.
Between Philip’s anger issues and desire for vengeance, the devil could inhabit him and perhaps become a powerful force to be reckoned with.
It could build to a true climax that ultimately ends the possession mess and wraps up Philip’s torment, too.
Whatever the case, Days spoilers say the devil has some final tricks in store – and insiders are hinting at another unlucky Salemite being possessed for a while.
Philip makes the most sense under the circumstances, but we’ll see how it all plays out!
