Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 23, reveals that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) reflected on a Baby Boy Bo dream while Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) kissed. Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) also struck a deal, so here’s how Monday’s DOOL drama played out.
At Julie’s Place, Chanel told Johnny about Sweet Bits Bakery and how the best part was that she gets to work with her BFF. Johnny wondered about this BFF’s name, but Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) soon interrupted their conversation.
Paulina met “Giovanni,” who quickly turned on the charm and got on her good side.
After Paulina dropped a hint about Chanel’s messy romantic history, Chanel admitted to being married to a criminal for about two seconds. She insisted it was a mistake before Paulina fished to find out if Chanel was currently on a date.
Paulina thought Chanel should give “Giovanni” a chance – that is unless Chanel was “still doin’ the girl thing.”
Chanel was forced to explain that she was fluid, but Johnny assured both Paulina and Chanel that he had no problem with that.
Chanel found out “Big Mama” was in town and agreed to move back in with Paulina since they were on good terms again. After Paulina left, Johnny wanted to know more about this girl Chanel was into.
Chanel wouldn’t offer up the girl’s name, but Johnny realized it must be the bestie that she was going into business with.
Chanel insisted her BFF wasn’t competition since it didn’t work out. She assured Johnny that it wouldn’t be weird and that she wasn’t hung up or anything.
Chanel mentioned Johnny being cute and planted a kiss to prove it, so he was happy about that.
At the hospital, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) joked about bothering Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) at work and revealed that Ben remarried Ciara.
Allie also told Tripp about Claire Brady’s (Isabel Durant) new job in South Africa as well as her twin brother’s return to Salem.
Tripp had the idea to set Johnny and Chanel up, but Allie seemed uneasy about it. She also mentioned that Johnny was interested in someone and that Chanel was really into some new guy, too.
Tripp decided it was a dumb plan anyway and headed to Julie’s Place for lunch with Allie. They ran into Paulina outside and learned Chanel was on a date inside the restaurant.
Since Chanel had already faced an interruption from Paulina, Allie suggested they leave Chanel in peace and meet her new mystery man another time.
Tripp and Allie wound up in bed, where Allie admitted she’d never been happier.
After Tripp said he had something to tell Allie, he told her he loved her – and Allie looked like she didn’t know what to say.
At Ben’s place on Monday’s Days episode, he couldn’t carry Ciara over the threshold due to his injured ankle. Ciara suggested walking in together instead, so they did before Ben welcome Mrs. Weston home.
After making love, Ben said could go anywhere that’d make Ciara happy on their honeymoon.
Ciara reflected on a honeymoon dream she’d had while Vincent Belman (Michael Teh) was holding her captive.
Ben realized he’d had essentially the same dream along with a similar one about Ciara’s pregnancy and the birth of their baby boy, Bo Brady Weston.
When Ben marveled about how connected they were, Ciara thought it was understandable after all they’d been through together.
Ben eventually put some music on and hobbled a bit before his first dance with his wife.
At the police station, EJ showed up in the interrogation room to offer his services. He acknowledged that he was still an attorney with a valid law license and wanted to help.
EJ wasn’t upset that Xander tried to kill Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo). He was only upset that Xander didn’t finish the job!
EJ was glad that the truth about Sami’s betrayal had come out, but he wanted the $1 million Sami paid Xander back. Xander balked, but EJ felt like his soon-to-be client would need someone to pull strings to get out of his current jam.
EJ had influence with top judges due to his name and his father’s old connections, so he assured Xander that he’d walk away with mostly a slap on the wrist.
Xander tried to negotiate so he could keep half a million, but EJ suggested he could get Xander reinstated at Basic Black instead.
EJ promised to get Xander out on bail within 15 minutes and asked if they had a deal.
At the Horton house on Monday’s Days episode, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) defended Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) to suspicious Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
Jack didn’t buy the idea that Xander would deliberately incriminate himself to protect Gwen when they barely got along.
Julie mentioned that she’d interrupted Gwen and Xander when they were getting it on, but Gwen argued that it was a momentary lapse in judgment and that they started fighting again right after.
Once Julie was gone, Gwen gave Jack a nudge toward giving Xander another chance.
Jack didn’t get why Gwen was pushing for that after the terrible position Xander put her in. He felt there was no excuse for Xander’s actions and pulled Gwen into a hug.
After Jack told Gwen he loved her, she got choked up and said she loved him, too.
Later, Xander was in a Salem Inn suite after striking a deal with EJ. Someone knocked, so Xander ranted about how he couldn’t get a moment’s peace.
When Xander opened the door, Gwen was standing in front of him.
In the town square, Paulina found Julie admiring the Horton plaque that was back up.
After Paulina once again apologized for all the trouble she’d caused, she hoped Julie would agree to start over. Julie admitted she’d like that and clasped Paulina’s hand with a smile.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Paulina will create more problems down the road, so stick with DOOL!
