Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 30, reveals that Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) faced what she thought was gunshot terror while Xander Cook Kiriakis’ (Paul Telfer) $1 million was targeted. Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) also faced troubling news about how fast Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) was moving with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), so here’s how it all played out.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Monday’s Days episode, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) learned Calista Lockhart (Cady Huffman) was Bonnie’s late husband’s sister. Justin asked if that’s what Bonnie thought she could never explain to him – the fact that she had a sister-in-law he never knew about.
Calista corrected Justin and insisted she was Bonnie’s ex sister-in-law before Bonnie sold a bogus story of how they reconnected on social media. Bonnie claimed she invited Calista to the wedding, but she never thought Calista would actually show up.
After Calista pushed for a Champagne toast, Justin went down to the cellar to grab a bottle.
While Justin was gone, Calista pulled out the incriminating gun to remind Bonnie of what was at stake. There was a loud bang, which led to Bonnie crying out and insisting she’d been shot.
Justin appeared and explained that he’d merely popped the Champagne cork, so a flustered Bonnie tried to act like she was joking.
After Justin asked more questions about Bonnie and Calista’s reconnection, Calista said she found it difficult to maintain her relationship with Bonnie during her time in prison for killing Calista’s brother.
However, Calista argued that they have a common bond now due to their murdered husbands. She pointed out that the person who killed Harrison Lockhart got away with it, but she still hoped that person could be brought to justice.
Calista wanted to stay in one of the extra rooms at the Kiriakis mansion, but Bonnie insisted on getting her a room at the Salem Inn instead.
After Bonnie sent Calista on her way, Bonnie claimed she needed a blank check for the caterer.
Justin said he’d taken care of everything and insisted all Bonnie had to do was show up looking beautiful to start their new life together.
Bonnie got choked up about just how much she wanted that new life and seemed uncomfortable as Justin supported the idea of her having family at the wedding.
Next on Monday’s DOOL episode, DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) was furious over EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) using his family’s influence to get the charges against Xander dropped.
Trask warned EJ that he didn’t want her for an enemy and added that she’d find something to use against EJ as well as his drug-dealing client.
In Xander’s room at the Salem Inn, he convinced Gwen Rizczcech (Emily O’Brien) to make love to him again. Xander got a call from EJ and learned the charges had already been dropped.
Xander just needed to come down to the station for his personal effects, so he offered updates to Gwen.
Since Gwen didn’t want to keep another secret, she felt it was best to end whatever was happening between them.
As for the other secret about the timing of Gwen’s miscarriage, Xander assured her that he wouldn’t say anything.
At the Horton house, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) opened up to Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) about his failing marriage.
Chad worried that Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) might never come home and that his marriage might be over.
Chad asked Jack to talk to Abigail for him, so Jack was willing to help and pushed Chad not to give up on his relationship.
Once Jack told Chad about throwing Xander out, he admitted he wasn’t sure where Gwen was. Jack was worried about Gwen, but she walked in with a phony explanation about where she’d been.
Later, Jack learned Xander’s case had been thrown out and flew into a rage. He insisted that Xander had better stay away from Gwen or there’d be trouble.
At the police station on Monday’s Days episode, DA Trask thought Xander’s briefcase with $1 million minus the bail money was suspicious.
Trask vowed to hang onto it in the evidence room, but she eventually caved under Xander and EJ’s pressure to release it.
Afterward, Xander insisted on keeping that briefcase until EJ came through on the second half of his promise – the part about getting Xander reinstated in his job at Basic Black.
Calista overheard the conversation and got in touch with Bonnie to let her know exactly where she could get a million bucks.
At the new bar, Allie admitted to Johnny that she was Chanel’s BFF – and Chanel was shocked to learn Johnny was Allie’s twin brother.
Johnny suggested they could skip the awkward “getting to know you” part and just get right to drinking then.
The tension intensified as Johnny brought up the kiss Chanel and Allie shared. Johnny didn’t think it seemed like their relationship was totally in the past, but Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) wondered “what the hell” that was supposed to mean.
Allie and Tripp eventually left before things escalated any further. Once they made it back to Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) apartment, Allie admitted she hoped things didn’t work out between Chanel and Johnny.
Allie wanted the romance to end before it got too serious, but Tripp confessed that Johnny and Chanel almost slept together according to Chanel.
That news left Allie unsettled while Johnny talked to Chanel about their complicated situation.
Johnny was worried about being at odds with his sister, but Chanel suggested that Allie had moved on with Tripp and now she’d found someone else, too. Since Johnny seem satisfied with that answer, he shared a kiss with Chanel.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Allie, Tripp, Johnny and Chanel have more obstacles in their future, so stay tuned to DOOL!
