Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 9, reveals that Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) attacked Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and injured his ankle at the cabin. Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) were also ready to lawyer up after getting arrested, so here’s how it all played out on Monday’s Days episode.
At the Brady Pub, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) admitted that he gave Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) the letter about an hour ago.
A horrified Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) hoped he still had time to stop Nicole from giving the letter to Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney).
Lucas felt like this was going to blow up in his face and warned Philip to do him a favor and not do him any more favors!
At Nicole’s apartment, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) stopped by and could tell that something was wrong.
Nicole confessed that her marriage seemed to be over and explained how Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) found out she cheated on him.
Before Nicole could admit which man she slept with, Lucas showed up in hopes of stopping Nicole from giving the letter to EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel).
Nicole stepped out in the hall with Lucas and let him know it was too late. She confirmed that EJ read the letter right in front of her, so Lucas ranted about how EJ was going to kill Sami.
Nicole insisted that Sami and EJ would get back together – that this was just the dance they do. Lucas said Nicole was wrong and dashed off, so Nicole returned to Rafe inside her apartment.
Rafe assumed Lucas was the one Nicole slept with, but she revealed that it was actually Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer).
At the DiMera mansion, EJ made a speech about what a smart and beautiful woman Sami was. He quickly added that Sami was also a lying adulteress, so Sami felt like Nicole must’ve told EJ that she cheated on him.
Sami acted like EJ couldn’t believe a word Nicole said, but EJ pushed Sami to be honest with him.
Sami finally admitted to sleeping with Lucas in the DiMera dungeon, but she lied that it was just that one time.
EJ argued that they could’ve gotten past this if Sami had told him the truth and then read from Kristen’s letter, which confirmed that Sami and Lucas slept together at John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) townhouse.
Sami ultimately broke down in tears and explained how she wound up sleeping with Lucas that first time – plus in the DiMera cellar when they were trapped.
Sami reminded EJ of how they got past it when EJ slept with Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller), but EJ said that was different since they were just engaged.
EJ felt that marriage was sacred, so Sami mocked “Reverend DiMera” and denied it when EJ suggested she could still be carrying on with Lucas now.
However, EJ didn’t know how he could believe anything Sami said ever again.
Back at Nicole’s place on Monday’s DOOL episode, she told Rafe that Sami also cheated and added that she made sure EJ found out about it. Suddenly, Sami arrived and pushed Rafe to leave. “The bitch and I need to talk,” Sami said.
As for Lucas, he headed to the DiMera mansion and called out for Sami. EJ glared at Lucas and told him that if he was looking for his mistress, she wasn’t there.
At the church, Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) demanded to know “what the hell” was going on after lifting up the bride’s veil. Claire insisted she was giving Ben and Ciara a chance to be alone together.
Once Theo realized Allie had Ciara’s phone, he knew she was in on the plan. Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) pointed out that both Allie and Claire were aiding and abetting Ben, who broke the law.
Lani warned Claire and Allie to tell where Ben had taken Ciara or else they’d be placed under arrest. Since the girls wouldn’t talk, Lani read them their rights and took them down to the police station.
Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) pushed Claire and Allie to come clean before they were charged and booked, but Claire said it looked like they’d have to lawyer up. She asked Belle Brady (Martha Madison) if she’d represent both of them.
Back at the church on Monday’s Days episode, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) assured Theo that Ben wouldn’t hurt Ciara. That wasn’t all Theo was worried about since if Ciara remembered loving Ben, it meant Theo would lose her.
Theo briefly got excited thinking Ciara was there, but it was just Lani coming back to check on him.
After Ben took a furious Ciara to the cabin, he revealed that he’d fixed it up after burning the divorce papers there.
Ben wanted it to look the way it did when they fell in love, but Ciara mocked his “love nest” and felt the place was creepy since it was where Claire tried to burn her alive.
Ben pushed Ciara to take a look around and see if anything looked familiar.
Ciara agreed on the condition that Ben would take her back to Salem as soon as she was done. After Ciara did what Ben wanted, she moved in close and made him think she was remembering.
However, Ciara ended up telling Ben to “go to hell” and shoved him to the floor before he cried out in pain. Although Ciara thought Ben was faking, he insisted he genuinely twisted his ankle and suspected he’d broken it.
Ciara advised Ben to use his phone and call someone else for help, so Ben gave up and told Ciara to go do whatever it was she thought she had to do.
After Ciara got in the driver’s seat of the car outside, she insisted she was going to marry Theo just like she planned.
Nevertheless, something drew Ciara inside to Ben again, who was surprised to see she came back.
