Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, December 20, reveals that Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) seemingly wound up in a coma after a Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) swap – and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) vowed to fix Philip Kiriakis’ (Jay Kenneth Johnson) mess. Here’s all the DOOL mayhem went down.
At the hospital on Monday’s Days show, Jan was confused as she came to and learned she’d been in another coma.
Jan assured Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) that she was done going after Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Belle Brady (Martha Madison), but Marlena insisted that nobody likes a quitter!
That confused Jan even further since Marlena was Belle’s mother, but possessed Marlena deepened her voice and said that wasn’t the case.
After Marlena explained and let her eyes flash yellow, Jan was convinced and delighted to have the devil on her side.
Outside Kate’s room, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) argued that she wasn’t going away until Kate opened the door and heard her out.
Philip hid while Kate opened up and listened to Chloe defend Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) innocence.
Chloe wanted Kate to undo her decision to have Philip legally declared dead since Brady was incapable of murder.
Kate was disgusted with Chloe for defending Brady and let something slip about Chloe sleeping with Brady on the conference table.
After Kate lied that she overheard it at Basic Black, Chloe assured Kate that there’d been a misunderstanding.
Chloe said Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) slept with somebody else and ultimately swore on Parker Jonas’ (last played by Christian Ganiere) life that she never strayed from her commitment to Philip.
Once Chloe left, Philip called her a “lying bitch” and suggested he could trick her into confessing by hiring someone to bug her room.
Kate thought Chloe was being sincere and suspected that Philip wanted to believe Chloe betrayed him – or else this whole setup would be for nothing.
Philip eventually came clean about always feeling like a loser and a screwup. He was down on himself over all the mistakes he’d made in his life.
Kate cried as Philip wondered why he couldn’t hold onto people and make them love him. After Kate assured Philip of her own love, she told him not to worry and promised to fix this mess for him.
In the town square on Monday’s Days episode, Tripp gave Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) an early Christmas present.
It was a bracelet that he’d seen Allie eyeing, but Allie pulled out another box and revealed she bought the same bracelet for Tripp.
Although Tripp felt dumb for not realizing Allie was shopping for his gift, she suggested Tripp was simply too smart for his own good. Allie wanted to be bracelet buddies, so they both put them on.
Later, Tripp walked in on Marlena talking with Jan in her hospital room. Although Tripp pretended not to know Marlena was possessed, she slammed the door and refused to let him leave.
Marlena suggested Tripp was too smart for his own good, so he said he’d been getting that a lot!
After Marlena knocked Tripp out with a tray, she told Jan she’d put the med student to good use.
Marlena was eager to get her revenge plot with Jan in motion, so they settled on Christmas Eve as the right time since that was Shawn and Belle’s anniversary.
At the Salem PD, Shawn told Belle that Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) and Ben Weston (Victoria Konefal) were at a safe house for now.
Belle mentioned the erased security footage from the pub and suspected that someone was framing Brady.
Belle settled on Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) as a potential suspect, though Shawn knew it’d be hard to prove.
Chloe also showed up with updates on her conversation with Kate and remained desperate to turn things around for Brady.
In Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) office, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) rushed to his wife’s side after finding her unconscious.
Kayla woke up in a panic and warned Steve not to come any closer, but he ultimately convinced her he was the real Steve, not the devil in disguise.
After Kayla mentioned Marlena saying she was the key, she realized her key card was gone.
Steve realized Marlena wanted access to the hospital and decided she planned to use Jan to go after Shawn and Belle.
However, Steve and Kayla were puzzled once they found Jan seemingly still comatose in her hospital bed.
The camera panned down to the bracelet “Jan” was wearing, which was the one Allie had given Tripp earlier.
Possessed Marlena obviously switched Tripp for Jan and transformed him to look just like her, so that’s bound to create even more confusion soon enough!
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Allie and Steve will go on the hunt for Tripp by the end of the week, so that should lead to a shocking discovery.
