Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, February 1, reveal that Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) spoke at the DiMera mansion. Jake was peeved that nobody told him sooner about Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) break from prison, then talked turned to the GabiChic proposal.
Tony perused the proposal, saying that it would be an excellent business move, but that it would cause too many personal problems with Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) and Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow).
Tony opined that the choice was Jake’s, but that if he went with the deal, his personal life would suffer, which would lead to professional failure.
Over at the Hernandez house, Gabi learned about Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) recent birthday outing with Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker). Gabi warned Rafe about Nicole, but Rafe insisted that they were just friends. Rafe in turn warned Gabi about Jake, but Gabi said it was different because Kate and Jake weren’t married.
Later, Jake showed up at the house and Gabi answered the door in a towel, fresh out of the shower. Jake was noticeably distracted for a moment, and after Gabi put on a robe, he informed her that he was going to have to turn down her GabiChic proposal.
Gabi protested, griping that Kate probably made this decision, but Jake said that it was his choice.
Then Gabi said that Jake probably felt that he couldn’t trust himself around her, and Jake said that she’d always want him to be “him,” referring to Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash). Gabi asked that Jake at least release her the rights to GabiChic, and he agreed. Jake said that Gabi needed to move on with her life however she saw fit, and he left.
At the Horton house, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) established that the DNA test on Jack and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) would be in later that day.
Jack told Jennifer that he simply didn’t know if he was Gwen’s father, and he and Jennifer ran through various scenarios as to what could have happened.
Jack even called his old assistant to see if she remembered a Tiffany Rizczech coming around, but she said no. Jack and Jennifer concluded that Tiffany either lied to Gwen about Jack rejecting them or that it was a case of mistaken identity.
Just then, Jack got a call from the hospital saying that the DNA results were in.
At the hospital, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) visited Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes), who was still hospitalized. Julie was still worried about the Grant twins, and after some talk about that, she and Abigail rehashed everything that Gwen had done, including how she drugged Abigail. “I knew I had seen her somewhere!” Julie exclaimed.
Over at the Salem Inn, Gwen looked in the mirror at the small bruise on her cheek from where Abigail punched her. Gwen took out a box of makeup and said that Abby needed to get ready because it was showtime.
At the Salem PD, Abigail spoke to Rafe in the squad room, telling him about how Gwen drugged her last year. Rolf thought that Wilhelm Rolf’s (William Utay) word wasn’t enough evidence, given his credibility issues. Abigail moaned that she and her family weren’t safe with Gwen on the street.
Gwen rushed in with what looked like a much larger bruise around her eye. Gwen lashed out at Abigail, saying that Abigail should be arrested for assault. Abigail reeled, pointing out that whoever hit Gwen didn’t hit her THAT hard. Abigail and Gwen nearly got into a physical brawl, but Rafe intervened.
Then Gwen got a call from the lab saying that the DNA results were in, and Gwen took off in a huff. Rafe advised Abigail not to let Gwen bait her, and that Gwen was dangerous. “That’s why I’m here!” Abigail fumed. Rafe promised to take all the appropriate statements about the drugging.
At the Brady Pub, Nicole told Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) was finally coming home and that she wanted to throw a party for him. Roman was thrilled. After some talk about Charlie Dale (Mike C. Manning) now being in jail, Nicole walked out of the pub and got a call from Eric.
Nicole was upset to hear Eric’s news, and she argued with Eric before hanging up on him and throwing her phone down. Just then, Rafe came along and he quickly learned that the mission asked Eric to stay three more months and he accepted. Nicole sobbed, clearly upset by this development.
Back at the hospital, Julie was in a wheelchair by the nurses’ station awaiting discharge when Gwen sauntered up. Julie griped at Gwen for all the things she had done, and Gwen proceeded to call Julie names and taunt her, saying that she hoped Julie never saw her great grandchildren again.
With that, Julie jumped up to attack Gwen, just as Jack got off of the elevator and broke up the altercation. Julie ultimately took off, and Jack noticed Gwen’s eye. Gwen had the DNA results in her hand, and she opened the envelope with gusto. Gwen looked at the results, saying, “Read ’em and weep, daddy!”
Back at the Horton house, Abigail arrived to see Jennifer, and as they were talking about Abigail’s run-in with Gwen earlier, the doorbell rang. It was Laura Horton (Jaime Lyn Bauer), who had read the article in The Intruder about Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) having an affair with the nanny.
Jennifer and Abigail said that the article was mostly lies, and they explained that the nanny had targeted the whole family and claimed to be Jack’s biological daughter. Laura reacted big time as Jennifer said that Gwen claimed that Jack had his secretary pay off Tiffany.
“It’s all lies,” Jennifer said. “No, it’s not all lies,” Laura said. “That secretary who sent the checks was me.”
